Nice heli. Wouldn't it be better if you stocked full kits too? Just a thought.

Hi Laurens
we looked into it before, when we started importing the the original XeroG frames for the glow heli, but the cost of parts to make up a kit was nearly as much as buying the complete Raptor kit.

We could put kits togeather and use cheaper OEM parts but the quality is not always as good, and then it detracts from the quality products we sell.

But something for the future

I watched the video of the e-XeroG Raptor on www.tppacks.com ,It is very impressive, much more power than any 50 size heli. Anyone that has not seen the video should check it out.

Nice going Andy.

I'm trying to find the time to get mine tested. I have one of the first production samples. This is a great design, with everything up "high and tight". The motor/embedded box is above the main gear/boom and the pack is strapped to the bottom of the battery tray, right underneath the main gear.

The adjustable lashing means we have a few more gearing choices than on the stock frames, with its fixed geometry. On mine at the moment, I've got one of Al's modified Raptor 60/90 95T gears. Instead of the "normal" 1515-2Y, which works great on my stock setup, with the 10s2p Pro Lite pack, I'm going to try a 1515-3D, which has a higher kV (1360 vs 1104...). This will run at around 50,000 rpm, vs. about 42,000 for the 2Y. We originally tried a 1515-1.5Y, with stronger magnets in order to get the kV down to about the same 1350 level, but it ran a bit too hot. The 3D is more efficient (i.e. -- lower no-load current at high rpm...), so I'm going to re-visit this. I'm encouraged by our recent successes in using a 1512-2Y (kV: 1380) in a Logo 10 Extreme with a 10s1p Pro Lite setup (video is on my website, unser the "videos" tab on the left...). It had ungodly torque and the motor only got up to 131F. Anyway, I want to see how this works in the 600e.

I will also try the "standard" 1515-2Y/10s2p Pro Lite setup, as it should fly even better than the stock conversion Alan and Danny flew at the MWE in February. This thing weighs about 3/4 of a pound less than my stock Raptor. It will be even lighter with the new VERY lightweight canopy that will be available with the 600e. It only weighs about 3 ounces.

We are also planning a "700e" version of this beast as well. With a longer boom and belt, and a slightly beefed up head/grips, you will be able to run 680-700 blades. For that one, the plan is to use Al's same modified 95T main gear, one of the "neu" 1521 longer can motors (think of it as an "XXL"...), the new Castle Creations HV 85A controller and a 12s2p Pro Lite setup. This will come in under 8-1/2 pounds, which is gong to give it argueably the highest power-to-weight ratio of any 90-sized model out there. :) This is still a couple of months away, but that's where we're headed.

I'll try and get some pics posted here soon.

Andy/Gary,

Looks like the 700e will be in the same class as the IonX but much more affordable. If the 12S2P's (24 cells) work out as good as you're hoping they will, the cost should be about half that of a set of 10S4P's (40 cells).

And I really like the looks of your 600e frames. This frame kit should be very popular, It's on my list of "Things I need to buy before I die."

I first saw this frame on the Run Rider forum, but one of your threads was closed after your first post and I can't even find the other thread. I made a comment on the RR forum about the possibility of your company comming out with a complete kit just like Laurens had mentioned in a previous post above. But like I said. I can't find that thread.

Here is my reasonning for a complete kit as an option for some of us: After I purchase your frame kit, I'm going to buy a complete Raptor kit anyways. Then I'll throw out half the kit because the parts aren't needed in the e-conversion. I don't even use the stock Raptor landing gear, because I like the low profile sexy black skids that Heliproz sells. The plastic head and washout are also replaced. And I usually consider getting a 120* swash, but your ring works pretty well, and it looks cool, so I use it. Just a thought.

I really appreciate everything that you and all the others out there are doing to advance e-flight technology. I can only imagine where it will be in five more years.

Thanks,

Chuck

Oh, I forgot to mention... A titanium colored CF boom to match your titanium colored frames would qualify your kit to be listed in the Victoria's Secret catalog under the sexy lingerie section.

I can't wait to get one of those lightweight canopies.

Can anyone tell me how they managed to knock off over 4 ozs. from the stock milk jug?

That will finally get me under 7lbs. on my E Raptor even with all the metal up top:shock:

Hi Al
as far as i know, they are made out of thin lexen plastic, like the logo canopies, and not the bleach bottle plastic which it thicker.

Not sure on a delivery date yet, will let you know when i know more
