View Full Version : Official OC california heli flyers
So Long, you seriously got kicked out?
I showed up later Saturday afternoon and no one was there.
Had a nice time flying out all my Mini Titan packs. Went to hook up the logo and my deans connector blew up on me!
I miss having people to BS with but it was nice, quiet, and peaceful out there by myself.

Yes man I, Rob and Kevin got kicked out. The only reason was that we are not allowed to park on private properties.
Hope to fly with you soon!

It should work ok.

Hey Jim, please post or PM when and where you'll be tomorrow. There's a chance I can make it.
Also, for the weekend are you saying back at the Irvine field we were just kicked out of? Confused:confused:

I was thinking about using that governor, I have the throttle jockey on my Raptor and it works fine but they are designed to fit the raptor, not the 600N.
I'm still waiting for parts for the RAptor, I realized I needed new main shaft bearings and bought them Monday but unfortunately I need them before I can start to reassemble the beast. I bought the Carb Smart deally and want to run that when it goes up again also.
I think the Carb Smart will make a world of difference, provided I get the tunning real close before I use it. Got one for the Trex too.

Carb smart sure looks good on paper, seems like the way to go for the utimate performance and economy.

Carb Smart... I was looking into one of those too for my heli too.

Ya, once you get it dialed in it keeps the engine right where you want it, giving you max performance and fuel efficiency without the danger of seizing your engine. I don't see a down side. It's all based off engine temps, engine temps aren't everything but at least it's a start. I would like to see the sensor mounted in the exhaust pipe and use EGTs instead, that is way more accurate and wouldn't be much harder to do really, just reprogram the unit to higher temps and it would need a different sensor.
Only place that you might have a problem is if you're flying in sub zero temps, head temps might be low but mixture could go lean. Just set your temps lower to compensate. I would like to see it be able to set to whatever temp you would like instead of non adjustable preset temps.
I'm surprised it's taken so long for this technology to arrive.
Longer flight times, more power consistently, and no worrys about fuel mixture.

who's coming out on saturday? looks like nice weather. I got both N9s equiped with the multi govs and ready to dial in. was a very easy set up.
You gonna be at Irvine? I didn't see the guard at all Sat afternoon last week.
Got some 515's on the logo now, but have a set of 550 ms composit blades, a 22t pinion, and a skytach waiting for some fly time on Saturday. Gonna shoot for a headspeed of 2250.

I'll be there with a gallon of fuel! And I hope my new maingears will come tomorrow so that I will be able to test the new 8.0 gear ratio on Sat.

Looks like Irvine is cracking down on RC flyers. signs like these are going up...
They let people get drunk in the parks but wouldn't let us taxpayers fly our planes...
