I will by flying at OCMA this Wednesday and have recently discovered that my tail rotor servo and gyro are set up incorrectly. What is the purpose of going into normal mode and trimming the helicopter mechanicaly in idle-up when AVCS will automatically electronically trim the aircraft to no drift? I guess if one's 3D required turning the AVCS off it would make sense to have a trimmed aircraft, but I never turn that feature off. Thoughts and help greatly appreciated. Thank God I haven't lifted Rexter 600 more than a few feet off the ground.
Thanks,
Rich

take a look at the Finless set up videos, I may be available to help on wednesday.
Got my OCMA worked out.
I'll be meeting Ron there Saturday to do my orientation and pay my dues.
I was number 30 of about 50 they're opening up membership for in 2008, so if anyone else is wanting it, you better hop to it! 20 slots yet and when they're gone, membership is closed for the year!

600N sweet flying bird.
Aox and airbunghole got pincked :YeaBaby: cool
You know, now that I'm going to be an OCMA member, and OCMA is a "Chapter" and not a club, maybe I could get something organized for OC Heli Pilots and start our own club, flying gas/nitro/electric at OCMA and Electric at Fairview Park.
Hmmmm.... Orange County needs a good Heli Club. Maybe "South County Flyers" or OC Heli Klub or something.

Yeah, I talked to MRyder a bit about that one. He was justified. I went off a bit on plowed and ******.
You guys that have to drive PAST fields to get to Irvine aren't affect quite as bad as those of us who considered Irvine their MAIN field. No Tijunga, or Apollo, or Basin, or Whittier, or Arbor for me. :\
That may be just "poor me" whining, but plowed and ****** pissed me the hell off. Along with Egoboy the Rent-a-pig.

who would want the IRvine site shut down? Whom would it benefit?

Bleeding heart liberals...
Here's what I think happened.
Ultimately, right now, the one guy who wants it shut down is the security guy. One, two, three people hanging out every once in a while is ok, but 4-10, all day, both days, freaks him out. That's "his" turf. And humans can be territorial. Somebody in that office building complained, or he saw us there. He told the group to leave, and was given flak.
This was the key mistake. I believe, in good Orange County fashion, if we had slipped him 20 bucks and said, what if you go get yourself a beer and you pretend we don't exist this weekend, we may have had more success.
At that point it became a matter of principle to him. The "heli hooligans" moved to the "planker" spot. The guy had no problem with the plankers before. There were 2-3, and only for a few hours. He then drove by, and saw the heli crowd he earlier told to leave. Knowing he had at least a little control over the field, or worked for the company that did, he called his boss and raised a stink, and got permission to call the cops and kick everyone out.
I drove by there, and there is a Private Property No Trespassing sign. But only on the planker fence. And it looks old. I never noticed it before. When I drove by tonight, there was a bmw parked there, and an older guy with a scale P-38 foamie, looking all surrepticious. I drove back and forth a few times, looking for guards, and checking this guy out. The last time I drove by he was in the middle of the field, his car was closed, and his plane was gone. I figure he was about to launch. I had the Logo and the MT in the truck, but didn't stop for a fly. I will next time I think. Just a battery.
It looks like the fence has been pushed back, a bunch of brush removed and cleaned up, and a path opened up a bit behind it. Not sure what's up, but it looks even more inviting now.
Anyway...
Drama drama... supposed to come from women, not from being addicted to flying model helicopters... grr..
Hehehe.. ahh well... adventure, that's what we'll call it.

Surely there is a way to reel this guy in and get him on our side? It's not like helis are boring... Has anyone bothered to get his name or let him fly a foamie around for awhile? He would surely rather come to work and have us to BS with than have to get into a pissing contest two days out of the week. I think he is our key guy into getting permission to fly there. My brother is a cop and as such I asked him about flying my heli at a city park, he laughed at the thought of getting in trouble. Of course he thinks the heli is awesome as he has high hovered (good attempt anyways) mine a few times.
Thoughts?

I had to google it...
I was a bleeding heart college liberal till school and I had our last fight and parted ways and I decided to just go make money. I then found out being a liberal meant giving away all my money to people who didn't want to make anything of themselvs and became conservative. I'm a self taught network engineer now, and damn happy with my career. I'll configure your Cisco Pix, bring up your telco T1's, set up your Mitel phone switch, sing you a classic operatic song in latin, bust out a yoyo freestyle, format your pc to remove Vista and reinstall XP, beatbox some DaftPunk, charm your wife into thinking I'm the best friend you've ever brought home, troubleshoot your Mac OSX 10.4 to 10.5 upgrade, then pick up a guitar and sing you Blackbird by the Beatles... All before picking up my DX7 and doing some shoddy attempts at a piro flip with my uberTitan.
I'm kind of a freak.
I'm a bit of an attention whore too.
Anyway.. sometimes I use big words. hehe. Carry on...

we are all kinda freeks, and I want to hear that classic operatic song in latin.hehehe.
Hey Aox I am a bit of a yoyo master myself, maybe if we can't woo him with our Heli's we can dazzle him with our fast spinning yoyo tricks! And if our yoyo's happen to bean him in the head and knock him unconcious, than we'll just go back to flying.

Haha you got it buddy, I'm always willing to ham it up.. err.. "perform"... for spectators.

Just had an awesome lunch break fly session with my 450v2, nothing builds skillz like close quarter indoor flying. Was flying in our wherehouse, had a nice open section between pallets of cans stacked to the ceiling. Not much room for operator error:)
