Will James is the owner of Helifreak. Go look at the poll... If you click on the NUMBERS for each vote you will see who voted for what. Will voted for OC Helifreaks. He is OK with it!

So we are OK man.... We just cannot use the Helifreak logo in any way. We need out own. I guess you missed the post 10 pages ago where I said we are OK use OC Helifreaks anyway.

So to answer the question we are TOTALLY OK....

My only by law is....
Gene you can relate....

No one flys if they are a risk and shows they are... YES I will say the name... ******! All I ask is that if we ever get someone like this out there, even as a guest, the laws deal with RISKY unsafe people like this.
Other than that.... I don't care about anything else.

Relate......that guy caused me more grief than I ever want to go through....Jim he's why I don't want to be Safty officer...

Anybody else want to throw thier name in the hat for being an officer...I have no problem helping out but if someone wants to be on the board of OCHF there are a mandatory 3 officers and up to 5...Jim (airboss), Gary (Aholein1) and me are in. so if you would like to be part of it, SPEAK UP....bob Jim suggested we take a vote on who get's which spot on the board. I'm not sure how to make a poll for that.

So we got 3 officers now, Jim -Gary and Gene. 2 still open

Bob and Kevin are great men, always running around help people, and willing to charity their horse power. Any club could gain benefic to have them @. But that up to them.

I vote Mike "bulleye" for officer since he is regular @ OCMA .

simple is best, but we better include mike in the safety officer position,LOL. that will help keep him out of trouble.hehehe. Jeremy might want a piece of this also. I dont mind being in charge of safety and how about a training officer position? its BS but might be helpfull for the new guys. especially to get them used to flying around the with others.

It is every members responibility to keep safety in check. When the problem arises and it will thats when a safety officer is brought in.. No one person should be left with the burden of policing the site.. We are all big boys and I expect the very best from every guy or gal I fly with.. A training staff is essential to growth..Not sure how many of you read Rchelimag but a couple months back there was a great article about mentoring.. One day I hope to be able to return the favor I got from my helo mentor.. A guy I know once told me one day while I was worried about an event I was doing "Expect the best and you will get the best"

I can point out mant things in that video that are un-safe and against AMA rules.

1. there are people, not flying RC directly to the left of the pilot
2. the helicopter at points flys extreamly close to the pilot even seems to be over his head
3. taking your hands off the transmitter, not once but more than once

shall I keep going.

the guys in the video are not cheering him on there waiting for him to completely F'up and plow his Heli into the ground, which would suck because it's the best Heli he's ever flown (seems every heli he gets is better than the last).

It's not so much this guys flying skills, it's his how he makes the whole RC comunity look. If he would just stop posting videos he would have gone un-noticed. there was a video he posted where he was flying in the street infront of houses with children running around. is that really how we want to rest of the world to look at us, nope.

I think getting banned from multiple fourms, including this one speeks volumes as to how most people feel about him in this hobby.

I for one would be really, really, really opposed to him joining OCMA or OCHF.

BTW: if this is Victor posting this, you need to stay off helifreak you have been banned.

If he would just follow the rules and respect his fellow members here he could stay. I don't get it.

There's a reason he keeps getting booted off various forums Will. He's never going to change and we all know it.

I agree.

I also think that a new pilot that needs help should get it instead of being run off. If he just doesn't know better, then teach him/her, if he ignores safety (big ego) and continues unsafe flying then he/she's got to go.

Might want to have a routine that every pilot must do to be cleared for flight. And or have different clearance levels. If a pilot can't do upside down figure 8s then limit the flying to stuff he/she can do. Mainly, stay within your skill level and leave the ego at home.

The governing body might consider coming up with a novice program that the senior heli pilots design, a structured program to bring new pilots up to speed and for them to learn safe habits from the start. This is just my opinion and I am not a member of the OCHF, I would like to come out and enjoy flying with the group from time to time.

As much as this would be nice...it's impractical to watch each and every new pilot. The problem is we can't be there to watch everyone all the time. It's more of a matter of common sense, if your flying around other people don't do anything stupid, pretty simple. If you plan on trying something new. make sure it's a planned event and give fair warning to those on the flightline. There are marshals at OCMA that will nail you if your being a complete idiot and give you the boot. As for helping out others I'm all for that, I've setup more peoples helis than I can count.

When it comes to Victor, many, many people have tried to talk sense to him and he flat out refuses to listen and in some cases goes beyond the limit, name calling and such and he's not afraid to use the race card. He has gotten better at flying but has been very lucky no one has gotten hurt in the process. That might be, because people stop everything thier doing to watch him fly, not because he's good they just want a heads up incase he looses control.

in any event. the No idiot policy will apply to OCHF, if you don't fly within the "common sense" by-laws and refuse to listen. We get to stamp your head with the stupid sign and send you on your way. :)
