Official OC california heli flyers

Well based on experience with Airbung and Suicide Mike.... They are earlier birds and usually bug out about 2:00....
Aox showed up at Arbor about that time today so he also probably left OCMA from being deserted by the bung an suicide ;)

So where was everybody today...OCMA was dead...by 2pm everybody left I was there all alone and there was only one planker flying...it was a ghost town. thank god I had my trusty sidekick Zane (3 year old son) to protect me from the mountian lions and rattle snakes..:)

On a side note I tride to fly a plank today...note to everyone, if you take an ESC from a Heli and put it in a plank, don't forget to disable soft start. nosed it into the ground on a touch and go landing...no power means falls out of the sky...

After 5 months vacation from Helis I'm getting back into the groove and over the pucker factor...feels good..

Bob and I spent most of the day calibrating his SK360 Flybarless sensor on my T500. Got it flying pretty good before the mishap.

I think too much tweaking and fooling with stuff today man... I was BURNT OUT when I got home. When we get that tweaky... time to give up....

with the soft start exception... I think flying planks is much easier once you have flown helis for a while. basic flight was a snap, even after not flying a plank for three years....

I don't like tweaking things anymore, I want to buy and fly, now a days, with the exception of a big power plant I really just like flying.

Gentlemen, My meeting with the showteam went well but it will be some time before they need more input from me. In the meantime i would like to get this club up and running. Can you guys meet this weekend? It should not take much time and we could possibly get some flying in at the same time.. Sunday morning would be great for me lets say 8:00 a.m.

Gene, it's so good to see that you're getting back into the swing of flying! :) I myself have taken about a 6 month break from it all. Just been too busy with work n stuff. Planks are nice to fly Gene! They are so relaxing for me and I can really let loose and enjoy myself. I have also thinned my fleet of helis and have no nitros left. With flying at a couple of AMA fields, I am now looking into a Vibe50 or possibly a 600 Pro N. I'd love to get together with you some time get some air time! :thumbup: How is Zane?? Haven't seen him in a while! Hows your daughter as well? I can't remember her name. I met her twice at our days flying. Look forward to chattin more and some stick time! :P

BTW airboss mentioned something about a funfly in May at OCMA, so my thoughts were a full on Heli attack on OCMA, I'm thinking asking some of the pro guys to come out and give the plankers a real show. Either that or ask for permmission to take over the main runway in the summer and have OCHF host a Heli funfly and really GO BIG or GO HOME...

Planks are a cool break from the norm and the run times are soooo freaking long....a 6 min. flight only took out 385mah out of a 2100mah trex pack,
