go ahead and take it out on your heli, lol. you got boom strike? are your mains too loose? those SA frames are tough , just give a smack and their good as new.congrats on FF keep using that sim.

I was bringing it back toward me tail in when I got a bit nervous and dipped the nose a bit low (lol when the heli is 5 feet in the air) and then the dumb right thumb dipped the tail and kazam ... boom strike.

planks are so cheap compared to Heli's.....picked up 3 more .50 size planks for the cost of one heli kit. I have tons of Servos from Helis that didn't surrvive laying around and loads of ESC's that needed homes. The Power 60 is a buck 25, pulled the RX's off the Helis I sold AR6200's... a couple of motors and I'm good to go....I think I'm just scratching an itch to build something, waiting for the Protos and T700N to arrive...and when I get board of them again, I'll give them to Zane, He's a Planker 100% I think it had something to do with me taking my retired planks and hanging them in his room. His Favorite plank is the Piper Cub...

Oh well, I'll keep sratching the build itch, unless you guys have some helis that need to be built? Kidding that's half the fun...

Whos going out this weekend...I should be back out on Sat. early morning until about noonish.

ahh my friend... You have not experienced GIANT scale yet... One of my giant scales fetched a nice little price tag. I had 3 of them.... I no longer have them, as I had gotten bored with them. Contests were a PIA... wait around all weekend to fly 8 times... No thanks...

I figured it was cheaper to total a heli, than crash a giant plank . If I lose a heli, Im out 1500-1800 and thats parts electronics and most everything. If I lose a plank, it was guaranteed to be 7k OUCH !~ plus... helis are just way cooler, can do way more stuff, and in general are always more impressive.

my signature is Go Big or Go Home....I have found Giant scale....I bought these little guys to warn up for a much larger Plank....Got my mind set on a 150cc Aeroworks Yak 54, but thats olny if I don't loose intrest...I have A.D.D. when it comes to RC...But Helis are in my heart and I'll always fly them or at least try to...

110" extreme flight yak... I guarantee that will be the best flying plank out here soon. I have never really cared for aeroworks aircraft except their 39% extra. That thing was sick. CRAZY high alpha stuff with it. 1 3/4 snap right to locked in tail draggin knife edge... I always found the arfs to be in need of a diet. a bit on the heavy side when compared to others with the same wing area.

speaking of plane freak.... did you guys see who the newest ALIGN Pilot is... my buddy Andrew Jesky.. guy tears it up with a plank, and grabs a heli, and goes nanners on that too... Him and JK did a killer demo where they switched transmitters on a climb out. Than both came down, and proceeded to punish each others rigs... That was one of the coolest things I've seen.

That is the sickest thing I have ever seen.. True example of mad skills.. Gene be careful with the Yak she is big and can be built heavy very easily.. Really, really watch what equipment you put in it.. She is real nice and easy to assmeble but just watch your gear..3W Votec with a 157 on cans 38lbs no weight saving measures taken.. I am sure I could get her sub 36# with little effort.. Best rolling plane onthe market right now..

I dont think I have that one, but I have one of Leseberg (the szabo of the airplane world) and Krause doing a tandem demo

http://youtube.com/watch?v=0hAMrN18h0Y

Jesky is standing in the middle of them. This was killer to witness in person... Eventually it was emulated by several, but never duplicated... QuiQue and Curtis did one @ joe nall also that was pretty spectacular.

Kevin, Mike or anyone with a Scorpion motor for their 500 had their motors shaft wear around where the bearing is? I started to hear a noise when I was flying and took the motor apart and found the wear.

wow, thats a worn shaft! how many flights? was the bearing seized causing the inner race to spin? or is that some electyrolisis ? lucky for you it didnt break.

I am not sure how many flights, I have had the motor for maybe 2 months?? I ordered a new shaft. but I don't know what to do about the bearing. the bearing is not seized but seems to move freely.

looks like an electrolisis of some kind if the bearing is good. makes wonder if the can is out of balance.

The scorpions are out-runners so if there is something unbalanced it will wear out extremely fast. (could be the gear mesh was too tight)

I say its the fetzer valve... If it aint nitros eating bearings, its them electron burners eatin' em too !!

If the bearing starts to fail the shaft is going to turn int he inner race of the bearing. This is why you have to check them from time to time and use green locktite to bond the shaft to the inner races.

The shaft and bearings are shipping out today. I will use locktite this time.
