So how has a pre-order placed for Aurora and decided not going to get it anymore? Airboss?:) Did you cancel you pre-order?
yes I did ,, long time ago. its nice they are finally coming out but at this point all the BS murdured all the hype. so now its just another heli, and since trex is coming they(avant) got their hands full. everyone loves the align helis. just got back from Gyro Hobbies with my new engine , pipe , hyperdrive , and hub.

Does that mean #3 is almost ready to maiden? Don't know when I'll be out this weekend, maybe sat.

all I need is servos and gyro. not going to happen this weekend. but I did notice that building the same heli a couple times helps fine tune the links and I made a couple small mods that smooth out the assembly.

I'm not trying to put down the Aurora but the long delay getting it to market totally put me off.
Even though it's coming out slightly ahead of the T7 I think they missed the boat, everyone that was interested in a new 90 has already got their sites set on the T7, me included.
It will be 4 to 6 months before I get ready to buy another 90 so I've got plenty of time to decide which one.
I do still like the Aurora, it's just the long delay has caused concerns about parts support, and I'll still consider buying it, that is, when it's available to buy off the shelf.
If you like 90 size Nitros, this is a good time to be in the hobby.

$185 more than the T7.
About my Trex600, the lower body clip issue. I didn't want to buy the aftermarket clip so I filed it down, way down and it works good now. The clip only needs to keep it from swinging upward. I put clips like on the car bodys thru the pins so the canopy can't come off the grommets.

It's very tight and to remove it is a finger breaker. I think this also fatigues the fiberglass at the mounting point. Very hard to clip over the landing gear, tight as hell.
I'm not the only one, there is fix for it through helidirect ? or one of them.

Here's the part.

the plastic is very stiff, if you saw how stiff mine is you'd understand.

Mines also very tight and very stiff, and I hope to god it stays that way. Last thing I need is my canopy coming off in flight. good luck and I hope the Helidirect one stays where it's supose to.

I just modified the stock piece.
It won't come off with the clips I put thru the pins the grommets go on.
The clips don't come off but the fiberglass can break away causing failure, I've seen that, video taped it.
google jason chow canopy failure search will bring up the video.

FYI and this is not a April fools joke....
Just got a call that the cops are now kicking people out of Arbor park. They said the base has complained several times now about airplanes flying over the fence. The cops said there is a NEW city code that says no RC aircraft. I pulled the city code off the web site updated 12/2007 and the code has not changed
7.55.10 Ref G
No engine powered remote control airplanes my be flown of city or park land.
As many know the police gave us a "out" when we explained
1) These are not engine powered they are electric
2) It says Airplanes specifically not helicopters.
The cops let us fly because of that loop hole.
However they now said they will start issuing warnings and then citations.
Jerome is going to the Police department right now and is going to talk to the watch commander or Sargent and see if they will kick out the airplane guys but still allow the electric helis since there has never been a problem with helis flying over the fence.
If that doesn't work he is going to city hall and see if we can get on an agenda and get permission for RC electric Helis only at the park.
But I have a feeling Arbor is now done for..... Time to find a new field.

dude that blows chunks..leave it to the plankers to cause the problems :).... There's not a whole lot of open space around in the OC which suck big ones....hope the west side finds a new home....maybe OCMA can do a massive group discount, but I doubt it, they want to keep the active member numbers low so as to not crowd the field....

What is this? Fly somewhere till we get kicked out? This is a disturbing trend.
Suzuki, Irvine, Arbor.... what's next?
AMA is trying to counter this with their Park Pilot (http://www.modelaircraft.org/parkflyer.aspx) program, but personally, even though I wish them the best of luck, I'm not too optimistic. Too many crybaby whiners in today's society.

sorry to hear about the park, it is just another example of careless antics by our RC brothers(planks). if you guys move quikly you may get a membership for ocma but they will close enrollment when they reach max occupancy.I did spot a nice lot next to los alimitos race track and it looked promising. just west of main entrance off katella. I hope we can work out a deal with the city cause I'm going to miss that nice green grass.

I like the Idea of a heli only field. The parking lot at Los Alamitos race track is infested with plankers and I have seen one hit a occupied car! Even though ocma is far for me I am going to try and join now.

Sorry to hear about Arbor park.
Bob: Please keep us updated. Thanks.
Bummer for sure... unfortunately in todays litigious society this is a total realty. Renegade flying is going to get tougher, and tougher. No one wants the liability of the use of "THEIR" property. I see fields all the time that I would like to just pull over and fire up. I know though, it would only be a matter of time before someone calls the cops... Keep trudgin', god I wish Miles Square was still around.
