Mother's day weekend this weekend. Minimal flying for me maybe saturday:bawl
I'm gonna leave straight from work. Would be interested in a co-rider if anyone wants to share w/ me or vice versa. I'll be leaving around 0730 and staying until probably 4 or 5 ish at the latest. This is going to be fun. I dont think it will be super super crowded, but should be a fun crowd.

HEY sucker I'm in all day Saturday....
I stopped by Gyro and picked up some of the stuff I need for the N9 on Friday.
Airboss got the last SB's but I got some 710 Radix, 3 8717s, a 9254 for the throttle, a 2500 mah 2s pack, and a Spartan Gyro. The setup on this Spartan looks "interesting" to say the least.
Now I have to find a starter with a oneway. No one's got them in stock locally as far as I can tell.
Almost got all the bits!!!!!!
SO FREAKING EXCITED OMG!!!!!!!

Why do you need a one way starter?
I've never used one, but I have a Raptor and I guess it's different?
You're gonna love the 90, the only downside I know of is you'll be scared to try new stuff, or even old stuff but you'll get over that.
I've been moving along progressing at my pace, I've done stuff I didn't intend to do just by reflex from sim time.

I'm not sure which of you I'll see at the San Diego Fun Fly, but whoever, I'll see you there. If you don't recognize me, just ask Finless. :)

I would go to the fun fly but there's a $30 registration fee to fly.
30 for registration
30 for gas
25 for heli fuel
= $85
Too expensive for me.
Have a great time.

Aox, JodyJ,,, welcome to the 90s. now that you guys have made the big jump you can officially put the E machines aside and enjoy the power and noise of a big block top fuel heli. welcome to the N9 club.

Mitch,
Some machines do not have a one-way bearing clutch in the centrifugal clutch, like the Raptors, Knights, etc. have. I think Hirobo used to use the lack of a built in one-way for starting as a selling point (occasionally the one-way will let go, making it impossible to start the helicopter).
I have only heard about the failures, I have yet to experience one (knock on wood).

you dont need a one way as mitch says, I start my OS engines without one. every time I purchased a one way it eventually failed and locks up anyway.
So I just yank it outta the socket right as it starts or what? I don't exactly have small body parts, so I'm not afraid of a litttle kickback.

just give it short bursts of power from the starter the actual motor is not spinning fast enough at idel to fling the starter a once you let off the power. the starter motor will spin freely anyway.

No kick back, it just pulls away easily. dont worry Aox, its safer than a norelco.lol.
look what I got my JET buddy to buy !! and the best part is... I get to take pulls on it.... He'll be showin his face around OCMA soon...

Gentlemen,
I need help. The servos (cyclic & tail) are working but I cannot get the motor (Neu 1107/1.5Y w/Phoenix 45) to run. It was fine until I performed the failsafe. TH is off. TC normal is 0, 50, 80, 90, 100. It appears the throttle is still in "failsafe mode" notwithstanding the fact that I removed the bind plug and re-programmed the TC in normal mode to the stated setting. If I cannot resolve the problem by Friday, may I bring her down to OCMA for diagnostic help on Saturday. Thanks.
sounds like a throttle endpoint issue.

Guys, Around 2:00pm I went to go fly a few batteries on my new V-BAR 500 @ ARBOR PARK.... There was a older guy I have never seen before and he had a cheep $25 foamy flying it around 500 feet up and then landed it in the Strawberry field. Then he drove his car next to the fence by his plane, (I have no Idea how he got it back there) then started honking his horn in his car full time until someone helped him. I tried to talk to him but it was like talking to a brick wall... He needed that foamy!!!!! Perfect example why they want it closed down.

I think in the end, the City would just simply amend the existing municipal code thus banning all RC aircrafts. So for all heli fliers living in the City of Cypress, keep an eye out for public announcements regarding city council meetings with agenda on proposal to amend the current municpal code. You guys need to attend those meetings and object or at least, as suggected by Bob, get an exemption for electric helis only. I don't see plankers with valid grounds for discriminatory treatment since RC aircraft flying is not a fundamental right afforded by the US and/or California Constitution.
