View Full Version : Official OC california heli flyers
I just got in from an afternoon out there.
Bit by bit, I'm getting the engine in the N9 dialed. It was SUPER rich. My tanks are lasting longer and longer, but I still have a bit more to go. Sure was FUN flying that beast though!!!!
Flew out my Logo packs, and one pack in the mini titan, but with a .90 sitting there, the 450s didn't get much love. Sure is nice to just refuel and go!!
What a beautiful day :D
Oh, and some planker stole my OCMA badge. Keep an ear open if you would guys. I think I have to email Ron and request another one.

AOX, did you check the box behind the pin board ? it has a lock and people put badges in there if no one is around. glad to hear your getting the N9 dialed, sure beats the crap out of those razors HUH.
BOSS,
The more I was thinking about that tail kick the more it was confirmed it was the governor. After I smoked the governor, There were no more tail kicks... I really think that thing was leaking voltage in the system somewhere... Now to find another multi gov somewhere.

thanks Finlessbung, I will bring it down next weekend.
hey Benheli, did you make it out to ocma? mike and me left around 12 for lunch.
Sorry Airboss, I got busy preparing a case for trial tomorrow (and attempting to fix the heli on the side) so I couldn't make it out to see you guys. I'd hope to be out there next Saturday.

did you guys get the letter in the mail today about the OCMA swap meet/fun fly this comming Saturday?

Yeah, it's pretty freakin sweet, bro. There's just something about it. It has such PRESENCE. My rolls were pretty sloptastic though, but in the exact same fashion my Logo and Mini Titan are. I think I may be the common failing link here hehe. Loops were freakin huge, tic tocs felt like I could fly through them, instead of just going through the motions hoping the heli did what my brain was trying to tell my hands to do. Trippy to go from "ok, my two logo packs are done" to, ok, time to put more juice in the tank!
I experienced a slight hot start due to my rookieness. I forgot to turn on the electronics, and burnt the clutch a bit, but not too bad. Smartfly 6A regulator seems to be working like a champ so far, but I still want the Reactor-x unit. V curves seem to be working pretty damn well too. Does a governor make that much of a difference?
Also experienced my first vapor lock, and a first hand experience of how I need a 4s lipo on my starter and not a 3s. My buddy Ray was there with his 600N, and his 4s powered 12v started cleared the vapor lock right up. He showed me how to lean it over to clear the cylinder.
Still tweaking the mix. My tanks are lasting longer and longer, but it's still running pretty rich. The carbsmart hasn't even kicked in yet, and i've got it set at 110C. I'm leaning it out two clicks, flying, leaning, flying. I'm very close though.
Remembered all of Longs guidance on pinching hoses, and pressured hoses out after flight to release pressure, and what steps to take to fuel, clear, and prepare to store.
Good stuff. I'm digging the nitro world, though I don't see myself getting rid of the Logo any time soon.
The duration of my Trex450's stay with me has just decreased significantly, however. :D I have a Mini Titan, I don't need a Trex. I do need a Twin Rexx Chinook though :D
I tried to get into the box, but the code didn't work for me. I only checked the east side padlock though.
Looking forward to more flying this weekend!

Hey Aox,
Do you have any pics of your carbsmart on your Synergy, particularly how you mounted the servo. Are you using it to adjust the hover and high needles or just the high needle?
I'm thinking of getting a couple for my 600N and Synergy when Gyro gets them in stock.
Thanks!

Long, Nice MSH build. Mine also came with a damaged canopy :arggg:. It's made so thin.
The whole machine is so light I hope it survive at lease one crash without a re-kit.
