He called me twice tonight to ask questions about his website..... couldn't bring myself to causing him to flip out over his dog. Didn't tell him......yet. Got to think of a way to break it to him gently.
Go ahead and tell him, maybe he'll help with the repair bill, If you were my brother and my dog did that I pay every penny if I could! I obiously dont know your brother so I dont know if he has the financial means or not. Good luck

All Mikado parts have been found!!! Big props to the Helifreak family for the donated parts and support.

I'm sure my brother will help cover repair costs.

Last night I dreamed a big black Panther broke into my house and attacked me while I was watching TV. I think this crash has caused me mental trauma.

I sent Will a PM about the Lipo.

Will is on vacation with the family and is also no longer handling Flightpower matters. You should contact Steve Rogers at Flightpowerusa.com (http://flightpowerusa.com/)

Jeremy,

You can make the 961 parts from a piece of 5/52" OD aluminum tube from your LHS. Been there done that!

Wow Jeremy, that was a bad crash. Glad that the Freaks steered you in the right direction on parts and support:hug:. Hope that you get back in the air soon. Post pics on your heli when she is ready for the next flight. I am glad that your canopy was not harmed, that is one nice paint scheme:smokin:. Good luck.

Wow! When you decide to crash, you don't mess around with just a little damage. Good luck on the re-build. Would a new kit have been cheaper?

Jeremy,

first off sorry to hear about the crash, really awful news.

Secondly, just tell the dog owner. he should have control over his dog, and for it to knock over your TX and cause your heli to crash, makes him rightfully responsible. I'm not sure on US law, but in the UK thats how it would work. he should at least help with the crash damage out of pure decency!

Anyway, that really sucks, hope you get everything sorted out and get in the air as soon as possible!

Thanks guys.... I'm working out the details with my brother. I didn't buy a new kit because damage was below 50% of the new kit price. It was like close to 45%..... just my little rule if it isn't over 50% in cost just rebuild.

I think the reason crash damage was so high is because as I and the radio came tumbling down the throttle stick went full neagative pitch. The heli didn't just crash.... it got slammed as hard as possible.

The sick feeling I had after the crash is about gone. I'll be fine. Just got to "get back in the saddle" as Mercuriell puts it.

Well for what it is worth Jeremy my last summer included many bucks off the saddle, 95% of them were from a failure of some sort, and it was very frustrating to say the least so I do know where you come from. It is best to stay positive about it and simply learn from it the best you can. I know sometimes it is not in our control of course, however dogs and helis do not mix it seems, lol.

Sorry to see the carnage Jeremy. I admire you for sticking to it. Glad to see you have all the parts lined up and will be back at it very soon!!

Really s...ks what happened Jeremy, :(
But that's something that can happen to all of us when we fly in open spaces,
Happend to me too me too once, also got jumped by a playing dog, my Girl was with me and warned the guy to keep the dog on it's line, instead he released it, she managed to catch the dog out of the air before it hit me
Hope your flying again soon :)

Man I really feel for ya. I slammed my Trex 450 today under similar circumstances and I just got it rebuilt and flying 2 days ago. Mine wasn't a super big crash like yours but with income to repair costs factored in it was pretty bad for me.

I was out at a local flying spot and their were a few friends around and my regular spotter ( who has a bad habit of leaning up against my Power wheelchair while spotting for me ) well evidently about half way through my flight he decided he needed to relieve his weight a bit and leaned on my joystick for my power wheelchair and spun me 180  I was about 40 ft in the air and about 30 ft out and inverted. all I could do to make sure the heil only hit the ground and no one else is throttle hold . it hit hard.

1 Flightpower 3s 25c Connector end of battery got pushed in about 3/4 inch. comp loss
2x top frames these were already damaged and needed a replacement soon anyway
1 9650 stripped
tailboom, blades, mainshaft, feathering shaft, maingear, lowerframe, glass canopy. Probably more once I decide to pour out the bucket it's in :o

I will be contacting FP about the battery and hopefully they can give me 50% off for a new one as I only bought it from tower about 45 days ago. anyway I an too bummed out to take any pictures atm and my camera is dead anyway. I put my battery out on the balcony in my little BBQ till I can take some pictures.

It's the little things like this that better help us put life into perspective I guess

That really sucks man.... I hate it when stuff like that happens.

I put my battery out on the balcony in my little BBQ till I can take some pictures. I put mine in zip lock baggies and tossed them out in the yard.... Got an email from Steve at Flightpower and he said no problem and would get me taken care of. They seam really nice.

You know its funny because you are the third person that has told me that. I am not a biased person by any means and I always try to find faults with machines as well as advantages. I do like the Razor for its precise, stable feel but the weight is definately an issue. The other major gripe I have is that the tail belt slips bad under hard right piros and especially when you try to reverse the tail direction multiple times. Even though the 600 3D has a similar tail driven design, I am hoping that the tail belt will not slip as the Razor does. From the videos I have seen it does not seem to be a problem.

I am definately really excited to fly the V-bar 6003d, especially after flying my V-bar T-600!
