I've just ordered (well back-ordered) my X9303. Is there any "simple" way to transfer models from one to the other? I realize there's no direct transfer, but can you copy the numbers by hand and at least have it close?

I realize things like ESCs need to "see" the range your Tx uses, but the rest of the heli setup would sure be a pain to have to go through all of the stuff to get each model set up right. I do realize this may be a stupid question, but I've got to ask...

I just did this and yes copying the numbers gets you close BUT it's not exact.

Things to check for sure are your sub trims if you used any.
If your use to using the gyro menu on a 6 channel RX your going to be disappointed. For some odd reason the gyro can only be set to AUX2 which is channel 7 and they only allow the GOV menu on channel 6. That is arse backwards if you ask me.
SO if you did use the gyro menu on the DX7 for 6 channel RX's you will be stuck using end points for gyro gain.

Other than that most everything all lines up!

Excellent, thank you.

I never really change gain via switches anyway, so this should be OK, although I agree they sure need some lessons on gain setting in general. I didn't like the DX7 for this, and it appears they actually made it a little worse!

So, to set it via endpoints, do I just set the low travel adjust to the value I want?

Hey Bob,

I know that you are busy doing videos on other things.....but I'm wondering if you have any plans to do one on programming the X9303? There are enough questions on this radio in verious forums.....programming gyro using a 6 ch receiver.....throttle cut while in throttle hold... is it possible? A vid would really be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks! George

Bob,

If you have time, I agree with GWK. A video of the 9303 would be great. It is pretty popular radio and for a newb it is overwhelming.

Thanks

FWIW, I've moved two helis (TRex 450 and Raptor 50 scaler) from a JR7202 (same computer as DX7) to the X9303. I simply put the radios next to each other on the bench and transferred the numbers. I double checked everything (pitch, throttle travel, etc.) after transfer, and it was perfect on the bench and perfect in the air.

I've always run my gyros on the gear channel, and that works fine with the X9303. I agree, though... the limited channel assignment flexibility with the JR radios is annoying. Otherwise, I love them.

BTW, you are going to LOVE the X9303!

Thanks for that. I'll probably do the same. I'm just hoping to have as much success as you have. Fortunately, 1/4 of my fleet is V-Bar, and most of the setup is local to the heli there.

My wife asked me last night why I needed another radio. I fumbled through a few features, which I knew to be irrelevant - 7-point throttle/pitch (which I set flat anyway), 9 channels (two of which I have no use for), then just ended with GREED!

The 9303 has a Throttle Cut.

"The Stick Auto setting may be easier to think of as an automatic Throttle cutoff point, ince this is function it performs.

This feature allows you to select the throttle stick position in which the throttle hold function can be activated in the Throttle Hold mode. Although the throttle Hold switch is active, when using this feature the throttle will continue to function until the throttle stick is moved below the desired cut position selected by you.

To activate the Stick Auto function, highlight the Stick Auto function with the selector, a nd press to access. Next, roll the selector to increase/decrease the position of the cutoff point."
