For the last year and a half I've been flying what quite possibly could be the best plank in the world for a heli freak looking for something different as it's a great depository for left over, cast off, and excess small electric heli gear. Check out www.mugi.co.uk for all of the info, kits, and free plans. The Mugi Evo is a triangular flying wing made of 2mm coroplast, super simple to build, double tough, wicked fast, and it just so happens that T-Rex 450 motors, servos, and batteries are just what the doctor ordered for amazing performance. Who doesn't have some of that stuff laying around? With metal gear servos they're nigh indestructible and loads of fun for full contact combat action. My amigos and I have been flying them with Align 3550kv motors turning APC 4.1X4.1 props and getting speeds in excess of 100 MPH (radar verified) out of the little monsters. I've flown them with various cheap Ebay motors and had great luck, even a brushed Speed 400 will push one along nicely. The designer is a fellow named Morgan Wood of the UK, and he's a first class nice guy with loads of new ideas coming down the pike at all times. His new Tea Racer is sure to be another great flyer, and is also a perfect candidate for Align power plants. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I assure you there's few things more fun than five or six guys flying these things at breakneck speed trying to knock each other out of the sky. Be prepared for your face to cramp from grinning. :)
