Can you mount a small video camera on a bracket so that it tracks what the camera is seeing? It probably won't match the SLR's field width, but you'll learn to adjust to that pretty quick. The main thing is it can show you what the camera's looking at.
I've got one of these, along with their 900MHz tx/rx, and they work well:

Probably something a lot cheaper like this would work too:

How about this DSLR with live view. No external camera necessary, I think

If its anything like the live view on the canon 40D, it will not work. If you want live view, it flips the mirror up and shows you the image on the LCD. since you are now bypassing the viewfinder and the focusing screen, you have no AF. Its really not practical. The 40D can use auto focus while in live view, but it flips the mirror back down, focuses, and then flips it back up to live view. Not sure about the olympus, but if its a true SLR, it will probably work the same.
Its just far more practical to use a micro video camera with the right lens looking through the viewfinder. Mine is setup so I can see the viewfinder info and even focus points.
:edit:
also, if you dont take a picture for awhile with the 40D while in live view, it goes back to normal, because it really isn't good for the sensor to be exposed all the time. also, it will kill your batteries.

bullaculla, have you posted pictures of this setup? A friend of mine just bought a Canon XTI and is looking for similar solutions.

Okay, shot a few quickies :D
I got an extra extended viewfinder (these suck for normal shooting BTW :P) and drilled it out to fit the board cam. (stole idea from Loopback :))

I made a CF plate out of some spare car frame parts (got Idea from DJs shutter release thread :))
I used some JB to secure it to the bracket.

Slips right in. no need to adjust anything.

Little RAM heatsink. camera gets kind of hot.

I highlighted the frame of my LCD so you guys can see that the image preview fills the whole screen.

and here is the actual pic. It might have shifted a little, but the preview is really close to the actual pic. The top is cropped so I can see the shooting data. and when the AF points light up, you can see them in the preview too.

the camera and lens is from rangevideo.com
hope this helps
BTW, these are shot with a 40D and a 24-105 f4L at 1/30-40 sec at f5 (with the exception of the last pic which is the XTi) notice how little noise there is in the blacks and dark areas :YeaBaby: the 1DmarkIII is even better.

And the downlink work fine with your 2.4 ghz? Lot of people told me that It will not work, then I gone with the XP 9303 standard.
Really nice post!

Rangevideo 500mw 900mhz TX  I'd rather have bulletproof control over the heli than cheap conveinent wireless downlink. I have flow higher and farther than I feel comfortable with, and video feed was great! or so my camea operator says. :)
Kookboy, The lens is heavy. If I dont need ultra wide, I usually fly with the EF 24mm prime. Or the 20mm USM... which is just as heavy as the 10-22, but much sharper. All heavy, but that is why my 600 is on 10s :D
