Gearing question for Fury Extreme..

I currently have a Fury with a YS 80 in it. I also have a new OS 91 C-spec with pump that I would like to put into it. What gears do I need to run on the pinion and main gear to run about 1800-2000 rpm headspeed? Thanks

What gear ratio do you have now?
Is it 8.45 or 8.18?

With the OS you need to run 8.18 for the best performance. For 8.18 you will need 90 tooth main gear, 8.18 clutch plates and some shims for the motor mount you have now if it is 8.45.

Or if you have no problems doing modifcations. All you need is the 90 tooth main gear and some shims for the motor mount. You will need 0.060 in shims on each side of the mount. You can slot the four holes in the 8.45 clutch plates towards the main gear about 0.060. Then just line of the clutch pinion and main gear and tighen the bolts. I have done that several times with no problems.

If you have 8.45, that kit is not going to give you everything you need. You don't need the 11 tooth pinion if you have 8.45 now.

8.45 = 93 tooth main gear and 11 tooth pinion
8.18 = 90 tooth main gear and 11 tooth pinion

Since you say the heli has a YS 80 in it now. I would think the ratio is 8.45.

So here is what you need exactly.
8.18 Clutch doubler plates 119-118
90 tooth main gear 0865-90
Motor mounts shims 2 on each side 115-47 ( Motor Mount Shims .030)

That is what you need to convert from 8.45 to 8.18

The 8.18 gear ratio allows the Fury to get up and go HARD even with the good old C-Spec!
