Holy moly! that had to hurt!
So I take it that's Funjet #2 that bit the dust? I tried starting out with a cheap-o Cox warbird and had the same results only it got destroyed from about 10ft. up and going about 10mph. So did that take out the AT pack?

Thanks Will, I have not figured that out yet. Just happy I was able to get it on youtube at all!!
It was quite a surprise. Went right between the two of us catching him right above and me right below the knee. Funny though cause you would have expected the wing tips to be ripped off when they are fine and the center was ripped out????? He had a couple of cuts on his thigh from the prop too, could have been MUCH worse.

Yup, worked on it all week then on it's second flight (first on 4s) this happened....... And yup again, AT crunched, I took them up on their crash policy and got a replacement for half price. I stopped by the LHS on the way home from the field and picked up #3, just can't let it get the best of me. Still in the box though, need to find a good flying field oh yea and find a job and get a house!!
- FJ totaled
- AT 4s crunched
- Eagle Tree display panel crunched
- Flycam One crunched (was running but unable to pull video off of it)
- Spekrum 6100 crunched
Needless to say, it was the most pricey crash for me to date.

WOW that could have been a lot worse, I agree. You can definitely hear the thud of impact. It is hard to believe how fast they go. We are all happy you guys are OK, and also that you got it on film. ;) (Never hurts to have a reminder that planks like that pack a powerful punch too, even though they seem a lot more toy like than helis to a lot of people)

Did you try plugging the card from the FlyCam direct into a card reader? I've had some video get corrupted on mine, we figure due to rf interference resulting from getting the cam too close to the tx antenna, and I've been able to get it back using my card reader and a program called Photorecovery.
http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html
It scans the card for whatever type of media you specify, and can often recover all if not at least part of what was on it. I paid $50 for the full version of the program, but you can download a free demo that will scan the card and tell you if there's anything there. Unfortunately you have to pay to watch it, but the free demo will at least tell you if there's anything on the card that's recoverable. I did have one card that got screwed up so bad that it'd lock up my 'puter as soon as I plugged it into the reader, no idea what happened to that one, but other than that I've had good luck with it. Comes in handy if you accidentally erase something that you didn't want to as well, as it can usually get back pics, video, whatever as long as you haven't formatted the card.
Glad to hear there were no serious injuries. I hit a friend of mine in the arm with my Mugi Evo out slope soaring one day. It wasn't even going that fast, but it left a massive bruise. Be careful man, it's all fun and games until somebody gets an eye poked out! ;)
