have been looking at the radio gear, (transmitter, reciever, etc), what would be a good starter radio kit for someone on a budget :? :?
you might look at the JR 378. It is the predecessor to the 783, and is much more capable, and it seems the price wias pretty competetive.

Pick up the JR8103. They are pretty cheap now. You may find a used one here.
