With the pitch range you are starting with and your target, that is impossible mechanicly, that is as long as your transmitter is set up to have full travel (100% on both ends) and your pitch curve is from 0 - 100. The reason why this is impossible is because by adjusting your linkages from the swash to the head, starting at + 11.5 -10, you will get +11 -10.5, +10.5 -11 so on so on. The only way to get = amounts on both ends (mechanicly) you will end up with +10.75 -10.75 with the given pitch range you posted.
Page 28 in the manual talks about how to do it but it has you change the ATV or end points to get +10 -10, thats not mechanical.
I don't know why your instructor wants only +10 -10 (I know he will have you use a linear pitch curve) but +11 -11 or +12 -12 would be fine. The only thing I can think of but it would probably be more trouble than it is worth. Because you are getting a larger pitch range than your instructor wants and to adjust it mecanicly, you would need a smaller servo horn.
This link is a good reference http://www.raptortechnique.com/index.html
Thanks
its the first time I`ve messed with these parts of the heli, it was built to 3d setting`s, apart from the pitch horn which is set at about 10mm from centre I beleive if i remember correctly, every one i have spoken to in the u.k said the basic set up for the raptor is no good, and that i must obtain a +10 -10 pitch, mt instructer did not actualy directly tell me to do this, its was a good friend of his that i know and sets most the heli`s up for him that come from his shop before going to the instructor, i`ve just been told to do this so after my lesson with his raptor`s he will give it a test flight, may be its the way the shop sets them up and my instuctor goe`s with them or its an agreed setup they all go with i dont know:confused:, but who who knows i cant wait for my lesson on sunday, and to see my raptor fly, i never know i might get my hands on the sticks with a buddy lead, one step at a time though
cheers

Good Luck, I'm sure (hope) your instructor test flys your heli befor letting you at it. I agree with setting up the heli from the get go for full 3d, but it should be tamed down (expo) via the transmiter for learning how to fly. That way as you progress you do not have to reset up your heli, just change a few things in the transmiter.
I am one of my clubs heli instructors and I always look over the students heli. I also bring the heli into a hover and check the controls to make sure they are not to touchy. It hinders learning if you move the cyclic a milimeter and the heli takes off in that direction full steam.
word of advice, bring your heli to the hobby shop and ask them to look it over. That way any mistakes in building will be fixed in time for your lessons and you can get right into learning vs modifying. Also, bring all documention you have to the lesson (operators manual for heli, transmitter, gyro . . .).
One last thing, is the engine broke in? If not, set the needles a bit rich, because you do not know how to fly yet, put a board over the skids with about 10 pounds, and run a tank of fuel through it. You think 10 pounds sounds excesive? I have a Raptor 50 with an OS Hyper 50 in a 7 1/2 pound scale body and it lifts it no problem.
thanks got your pm to, i will let you know how it goes:thumbup:
