I have installed DS821 servos in a T-Rex 600 electric heli, and another pilot warned me that a lot of guys had probems with these servos breaking gears for no apparent reasons.

I would like to know if this is a common problem, and if I should be concerned about it.

Thank you!

Yes and Yes.

They (jr) say that are ok for a 50 size electric but I personally would never risk it, the cost of a crash will meet or exceede the cost of decent servos.

you could always put a longer servo screw in to hold the horn.
I fitted a Thunder Tiger rappy frame screws in with no probs. The screw are self tappers 3mm Dia x 12mm long.

The long servo horn screws will help. But personally, I would not run DS821s on anything larger than a 30 electric and not on a nitro at all.

Just not worth it. Save a $100 on servos, and one crash can eat that up.
