I know this sounds stupid, but the fact is I don't know the answer. On a 3 cell (11.1 Volt) LiPo pack, I saw 3S2P written on it. What does 3S2P mean ?

3 series 2 parallel

Another stupid question. I have a Swallow charger than can only charge up to 5 cells LiPo. If 3S2P means 3 in series and 2 in parallel, does this mean that this pack has 6 cells ? If this is true, does this mean that I cannot charge it with my Swallow charger ?

Or Could I still charge it if I connected a balancer ?

Yes 6 cells

The right balancer and charger is imperative. Sorry I am not familiar with the Swallow charger. But I would think with a balancer it would charge it just a little slower than normal.

What Heli runs 3s2p???

A 3S2P pack is charged as a 3S pack. The 2P just means that instead of 3 larger cells, the pack uses 3 sets of 2 cells to increase capacity.

The pack label stated capactiy (mAH) is the total for the pack, and for charging purposes, it doesn't matter if it is 1P or 2P or 8P.

The limitations on the charger for 5 cells is based on voltage output. A 5S pack requires 21 volt output. 6S requires 25.2 volts.

A 3S2P pack still only requires the same 12.6 volts as a 3S1P pack.

Pinecone, thanks for the help. It kinda make sense. Bottom line is I can charge it with my charger, and that is all I needed to know.

Here is a link to the Swallow charger I use :

I got a 3S2P battery and want to use it in my Mini titan.

Thanks Pinecone

Make sure it is not going to be too heavy.

Yeah, normally 3S2P configurations are used to increase the pack capacity beyond what is available in single cells. Used to be common to get beyond 2000 mAH.

What is the mAH of your pack?
