Wesley put his new HFE 8S Rex in on Tuesday, LG, Bottom frame, canopy, TT gears, tail boom, and fin. Worst part was that 2 of the 5245 cases broke. Hard to find! Big Al hopes to have some in today....but I also placed an overnight order from Tower so we'll have cases before we head to Huntsville this afternoon! :smokin:

Ouch! Oddly, I messed up the Stratus twice this week! One resulted in new skids (which I had) and the other resulted in a broken crown gear (which I didn't have). O well, O should have parts by tomorrow. We're planning on a Sat. morning arrival anyway since I have to work Fri. night. Otherwise, we'd be there already.

Braving a tornado vs. sleeping on a hotel floor ....

I think I'd stand a better chance against mother nature. :YeaBaby:

I am fairly new to helicopters, and this will be my first event I have attended. For a person of my current skill level (fast forward flight and some mild aerobatics) should I bring my helicopter or just observe. I am not familiar with how these events are set up.

When do things get going Saturday morning?

Definitely bring your heli. Things got going as soon as the first people arrived Wednesday. They will basically be going 24 hours a day now thru Sunday evening. Flying is going up from sun rise to sun rise. LOL Yes I meant sun rise to sun rise.
These events are called Fun flys for a reason. They are all about having fun and making new friends and hanging with friends.

David So, who all is there already, David? Just curious. I plan to leave out of here early Sat. morning for a day trip. One day's better than none, huh!?

Looks like I'll be heading up Friday morning arriving in the afternoon sometime.

If anybody has or knows someone that has a spare RevMax or Multigov governor sensor, I'd be willing to take one off their hands. I was at the Triple Creek event last weekend and found out I had thrown my magnets and broken the sensor and I need a replacement.

I'll be in my black Cobalt with the stock red canopy 600N.

Have no idea. I am in Birmingham. I was just explaining that Hville will be like any other fun fly. The fun starts when the first person arrives and doesn't stop till the last person leaves. That is 24 hours a day.

I just got things worked out so I can make it there Sat afternoon. After going to B'ham last month I'm addicted.
I'm kinda shy about meeting new folks so if you see a slightly old, slightly fat and a little less slightly gray haired guy walking around looking lost, it's me.

HAHAHAHAHHA,

Where in MS are you? I'm leaving Oxford around noon-ish and I'll arrive at the field around 4PM.

I plan on driving down tomorrow as a spectator. I've only been flying helis for a couple of months now and just getting comfortable with FF, stall turns and rolls. Still, I want to come down and be awestruck.

Pretty cool event so far. Got in around 3pm today. The Outrage team pilots are beating the G5 to death that's for sure! Can't wait to get mine. The T-Rex 700 has made its public debut and is looking pretty good from what I saw. Just probably a bit too much $$ for my taste.

Some light rain started coming in around 9ish or so and it's still going so hopefully it'll get it out of its system tonight and make way for some good flying tomorrow. Still haven't found a replacement for my RevMax sensor so I guess I'll just have to freak it with curves instead. I think Charley is going to let me have a shot at the G5 tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.

Signing out for now... See you freaks tomorrow!

I went down yesterday and had a great time. I also won the TRex 500 so it was even better! There was definately some great flying there. I'm planning on making this a yearly trip now.
