April 18th- 20th 2008.

We will be having our annual fun fly this year a week early to keep from conflicting with some other events. We look forward to seeing everyone this year. Last year was our biggest event ever and hope this year will just as good. It always great to hang and have a great time with some of the best pilots around and socialize with old friends and make some new ones too.

More info to come in the near future.

All,

We have made arrangements with the MicroTel for good rates if you call them and mention you are attending the HHF Fun Fly. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the field and it has been open for just over a year. In addition there is a Waffle House next door. We have a new website with directions to the field as well as the Microtel. Please visit our website at huntsvilleheliflyers.org. The Contact Us tab has the map data.

The Microtel information is:
1820 Chase Creek Row
Huntsville, AL 35811
Tel: (256) 859-6655
Fax: (256) 859-6116

We look forward to seeing everyone again this year as well as meeting new people.

All,

The fun fly is just a few short weeks away and we want to make sure we carefully consider parking for RVs/campers, pilots, vendors and spectators. As a result, we will provide specific parking locations for RVs/campers such that we maximize the use of the space at the field. We will also designate areas for vendors.

If you plan to stay at the field in an RV/camper please let us know and let us know when you plan to arrive. In terms of power and water you will need to provide these as HHF does not have any power or water connections. If you are a vendor please let us know if you plan to attend and we will reserve space accordingly.

Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the event on April 18-20.

Yes, tent camping will be fine but just a warning, you may be awaken during the night due to freight trains coming thru in the middle of the night.:)

That reminds me of a line in My Cousin Vinny (set in Alabama): "Yesterday you told me that freight train hardly ever comes through here at 5:00 A.M. in the morning." "I know. She's supposed to come through at ten after 4:00."

Heck them coming thru in the middle of the day will scare you enough when your flying. I think the engineers on the train just like to blow that horn for fun when they see people at the field. LOL
