Just bought these two stretched Vario Benzin gassers and tons of spare parts. One of them has only been flown for 1/2 hour. The owner's business has expanded and he hasn't used them for 3 years. I plan to go through them with a fine-toothed comb, and replace the 72 MHz Tx/Rx with a 2.4 GHz system, stabilizer, etc. I have trouble sometimes getting my Spektrum Tx to initialize the Rx and I've heard of other people having the same problem, so I'm thinking about putting the Futaba FASST system on these. I plan to upgrade the older one, and fly it around for awhile, then take what I've learned from that and refurbish the newer one with a nice paint job and electrics. A fun project for the winter!
