Hi , I have a Sony digital camera that I would like to take some stills with from my T-REX 600 . I will build a mount and such for it but Im looking for a wireless video transmission solution to get what the camera sees into my laptop , so I can see what Im looking at before I snap a shot from the ground obviously with a friend helping and me flying . I figure an extra servo would work to push the button on the camera while in the air, just rig the servo to my spare channel on my DX7 .

My digital camera has a audio video output for viewing on a monitor this way, I just want to send that video signal wirlessly to a laptop computer through a video card while my heli is in the air.

The video through the wireless link is for monitoring and framing up pics only , the actual picture will be taken and stored on the memory card on the camera like normal .

help please

Why does black widow even have 900mhz stuff on their site? everything is discontinued except 1 900mhz RX. It has been like that for a long time too. I would think that with all the guys switching to Spektrum, people would start stocking more 900mhz stuff. I guess RangeVideo is the only company capitalizing on it.

there is some 5.8 Ghz equipment available - a little pricey ($300 or so) but should come down soon. My next purchase

Thats kind of big! why? when 900mhz will work fine past the point i lose orientation, I see no need. Unless you are doing FPV flying...

I am looking to buy a 900mhz video Tx/Rx but wanted to find out from people that already use them just how far they can transmit (real life).
I suppose with and w/o a patch antenna with a 500mW like this one here:
www.rangevideo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=116 (http://www.rangevideo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=116)

There seams to not be an aweful lot of choicea out there.
I want to FPV soon, but need a good range.

Also, how far can you fly with a DX7?

Thanks for your time!
Scott

That one looks slightly over priced.
I'd look around. for a Cam that has a higher Trans rate on the same freq..
Unless your trying to use a secured link,

So, Mr Photog... what are you using for a video Rx and Tx?
How far away do you (or can you) FPV or transmit?

All I need is a Tx and Rx because I have a camer with live out to use.
Thanks for any information you can share to help out.
