Hiya,

What up with using a smaller servo on for the tail rotor ?

I've seen a number of guys on this forum spec-ing a smaller servo...

Just another curious newbie !

I used a Hitec HS50 with mine, did a great job. I no longer have a Shogun, got frustrated with the tail gears.

Hi,

Thx for yr prompt reply.

Altho, I am curious WHY you went with a 50 instead of 56 ?

You kept stripping the gear @ tail side ?

I've ripped up a tail i/p gear, not the one @ back ( YET ! )

Thx,

The HS50 is faster and works great on the tail rotor.

On the tail gear, basically my fault for setting down in the grass, catching blades and stripping gears in tail. I bought set of upgrade gears, that didn't help.... much, but did help some, definitely better than the orginal gears.

I think the Shogun upgraded these gears since I was a owner.

Good luck, I think I might try a T-Rex, a lot of folks are having good luck with them.
