Man, this is a slow tedious build. There like 1 Million parts, my goodness. If you think the Trex 450se build was difficult, multiply this x 100. You need to assemble every single pebble on this sucker. Its crazy. My arms and hands feel stiff now.

There's some wierd stuff on it too. Manual says the tail blades go clockwise. I tried it first the conventional way, but the belt kept going out of alignment on the tail. Finally did it the manual way, and it stayed on track. Wierd.

There's a few places you need to file the frames to make it fit. The manual even says to do this. Also, there was one hole I had to drill, as it seems they forgot to make a hole at assembly.

Looks nice, I think I'm going to have to get one sometime soon.

I just have a couple questions for ya.

How many hours would you say it took you to build it?

What size blades are you using with that Scorpion motor and what other size blades are available for it?

Are the Hitec 65mg's a perfect fit or did you have to modify the mount in any way?

One other thing, I believe it's pronounced ... Poe-sigh-den .... as in the movie, "The Poseidon Adventure"

Hey Tukkus. This build took me 3 days to fully build, taking my time making sure every thing is correct, and not rushing it. I must say, it was more than any other electric heli I've built. Seems like it took as much work as building a Nitro.

For blades, I"m sticking for now with this stock blade which I believe is like 335mm. I believe people have been using 325's to 350's on the Mars 480. The Scorpion HK2221-6 should support them all.

For servo's, the Hitec 65HB's I had fit perfect because I used the same hole that I had drilled on them when they were mounted on my Mini-Titan.

That's Taiwanese? Previously I would have thought only the French could have come up with something so gaudy and overcomplicated...

Dude, you apparently don't care much for your expensive looking stereo equipment, flying that thing inside like that... The blades would take a nice chunk out of those speakers if it got away from you. Not a good plan.

But congrats on your perseverance and willingness to try something different, I guess. :)

LOL, I sure did. That was my very first two weeks when I first got into heli's.

I don't recommend doing this unless your a trained professional at hovering like I am now!!! :YeaBaby:

Was there anything you didn't like about the heli or you think could be improved? One thing I had a problem with the Hoss was the pitch servo wire almost didn't reach the receiver.

Yea, there are a few issues that need to be addressed as the tail boom mount metal is very brittle and can chip away if the screw it too tight. Plastic mixing arms are also very brittle and when you insert the screws for the balls they can break also. My tracking was off also and I had to sand down some screws to be able to get it to 0 pitch at mid stick. I could of raised the swash link a big, but I wanted everthing pefectly centered.

Also, hot glue IMO is needed to keep the landing skids on as it seems too flimsy using some cushions they give you to put in between the joints.

Once its built, it a solid heli. Real test will come out flying it in in the field.

I've learned from other heli's I've built that even a POS heli can hover good. The true test comes when pushed really hard.

I so been looking at these sets of helicopters. I like the look of the Poseidon more but I'm sure they're about the same?

At just under $400, I'm wondering what makes this helicopter any different from my T-Rex I have or any other electric helicopter. I know just about everything is Carbon Fiber so would I be gaining anything other than alot of bling on this heli?

The Mars has a specialized extra tail gear to hold better at higher rpm's than the Poseidon. Hobby-Lobby sells the kits for $199.

These heli's are way more stable than a Trex 450, but also slower and heavier. Only thing really gained by getting one is a more stable heli IMO.

Oh ok. I have read about this but didn't know it was this much. It's supposed to speed up (slow down) the tail to supposidly have more tail control?
