So after an attempt on RR and another here on HF, I can ask you my question.
What is your current Ion-X set-up and what kind of flight times are you getting. I am looking for motor, ESC, and battery combo.
Thank you.

Hi Lou
Sorry about the RR thing.
O.K., I currently have an Actro 32-3 heli motor in one Ion and an Actro 24-4 heli motor in my other Ion. The two motors are very similar except the 32-3 will allow you to "screw up" a little more when you put both sticks in corners. The 24-4 will give slightly longer flight times due to a tiny bit more efficiency "if" you fly it right...e.g. you don't put the sticks in the corners. I use the 77-o-heli controls in both.
The hot batteries right now are the new TP ProLites in 5S4P or the Tanic 8880's which I believe are a 5S4P configuration as well. The Tanics are a little heavier but the machine does not seem to mind much. There is also an offering from Duralite in the form of a 5S3P pack that is 6450mAHr. It is an "E-Plus gold" I think. I only have a few good flights on it but so far it seems to be up there with the Prolites and Tanics in terms of voltage level through the discharge cycle.
If you are looking for the ultimate in performance, set your machine up with the Actro 32-3 Heli motor, the 77-O-heli controller and the Prolites. I fly with either the TG "all round" blade in 690mm or the MAH G-2 in 700mm. Both of these blades are tapered chordwise from root to tip.
I get right at 8 minutes of very spirited flight at which point I usually land and recharge. The motor will land at just a few degrees above ambient as will the speed control. The batteries will usually be about 110 to 125 degrees and take in 5000 to 6000 mAHr.
Note that one of the biggest differences between this system and previous systems is in that there is not a lot of change in peformance from the beginning of the flight and the end of it. This is primarily due to the fact that the motor sheds heat so well and the new batteries tend to run 15 degrees cooler than previously.

Chris,
Thank you for your reply. That is exactly what I was looking for. Where is the best place to get the 32-3 and the TP prolites?
What are you using for field charging the TP's and Tanics?

Alberto from Hobby Club called me last week, he had ten of those motors then. Make sure you order the 32-3 "heli". I am supposed to have a big box of them any day now myself, but with all the backorders I have, there may not be any left.
I can get you the Prolite packs as well as the adaptor kit to fit the motor into the heli.

It will still be a little while before I make my purchase. Do I order direct from minair or should I use ricks or heli proz? Can you email me a kit price with the Actro mount? Is there a combo available with the kit, mount, actro, and hacker ESC? Thanks again.
