The latest issue of Model Helicopter World (Traplet Publications) has a most excellent write up on the turbine conversion kit I have chosen to fly which I have dubbed the TurBen (turbine power, Benzine conversion). Powered by a Wren 54 two-stage turbine, this conversion kit is based on the Vario Benzine and, is a most reasonably priced way to get into a turbine helicopter. Since it is based on the Vario Benzine, it immediately assures scale application. Mine is destined for a big Airwolf fuselage later this year. Hobbyparts.Com is the UK distributor for the conversion kit, along with a full line of Wren, Baily and Hobbyparts gearboxes. Conversion kits should be available now.
