hey all..
im flying the lepton on 4s 3700 ....power is decent using kora...but bogs...
i am thinking of getting the 5350 evo lite pack.... similar weight to 3700 but much greater capacity...
whats the thoughts

Go 5S. Between 2800 and 3300. You can use Hyperion or FP for good results. A little more capacity won't give you a lot more volts.

how big of a difference is there on the 5s from the 4s ...is it night and day differnece??
You will have to change your motor and pinion to make 5S/6S work correctly
You haven't said what model Kora you are currently using (and pinion)
The 14 will be good on 5S (is rather lazy on 4S)
The 16 will be good on 6S
I'm using a 12 on 4S and that works nicely on 4S
If you stick with 4S then try the Evo Lite pack
You will get longer flights for sure

i have the 15-12 with 21 tooth on 4s...
its ok but not great power....
should i try 22 tooth? or is it not going to get any better on 4s??

i think i am going to try 23 tooth with 15-12 motor on 4s....
whats everyones thoughts
I think 23T will be too tall for the 15-12
21T works well - I don't have bogging
22T would be better for headspeed
but as 21T is not a really hot setup I doubt that the 15-12 can pull 22T any better
(but I should really try it)

At the beginning i was using Stock 24T on the Kora 15-12. Lowering the jazz to approx 65% have 2800 rpm. It was already very powerfull. 22T is the one to go if you want headspeed. 21 is softer.

Yes - it's not good to run a low throttle curve
we need to be up around 75 with the Jazz in heli/governor mode
and much higher with a none governed ESC
I remember when I put the 15-12 into the Lepton
I spooled it up in the garage at zero pitch (using pitch curve 0 50 50 50 50)
and got my lovely wife to tach the headspeed while I increased the throttle curve
I got 2780 at 72% flat and it would not go any faster
But at that point we are hitting the KV limit of the motor
So I guess it is possible that the motor turn turn higher gearing
In flight I don't get any bogging - so maybe it can handle a higher load
I guess I am just going to have to put a 22T pinion into the Lepton,
repeat the test and then see how it goes in flight

Jafa, you have to calibrate the Jazz to your Tx and also use the end points to have full power (red light on) for almost 100%. It's easier after that to set up your curves. At the begining i was full power at 88%. I modified the end point to have full power at 98%. I'm now running 18T, 2700rpm, 5s batt and 72% on the Jazz. Works well. you can't go below 18T. I already had to modify a very little bit the magnesium center frame holding the motor to be able to have correct gear mesh. I had to make the slots longer of approx 0.2mm.

Does anyone know for sure that a 4s5350 will fit. Based on the dimensions it looks like it would be an extremely tight fit. I'm currently running the 5s3700's and it looks to me that switching from that to 4s5350 would mean 15% more stored energy and 10% less weight. The continuous discharge energy is about 20% lower than the 5s3700 but about the same versus the 4s3700. I'm seriously considering these packs. I just wish I knew for sure if they'll fit.
It will be a close fit for sure - I'm keen to get a pair of these packs
