Hi.

I want to make some changes to my Mini Titan and install some upgrades.

I have ordered some 325mm Radix blades already. I am also under the impression that i need some blade grip spacers for these.

I could do with some ideas as to the best upgrades i could make to improve the heli's performance and look.

One thing i would like to do is replace the awful looking white skids. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket replacement or does the T-rex 450 one fit as they make a few different colours.

Any info/advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

1) Scrap the original landing gear. Go with the Gorilla Gear and t-rex 450 skids... http://www.rchover.com/inc/sdetail/30474 You'll have to drill new mounting holes, but no big deal. They're worth their weight in gold! Plus, they look much better than originals.

2) Rotor blade spacers...http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?products_id=5215

3) Unfortunately, if you go with the blades or any other brand besides the original, you'll need to replace the upper mixing arms in order to get the blades to track properly...at least I did as well as many other people...http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=184&products_id=5196

Here's some pic's...

Yep! All e-325 owners at a point or another feel that this very good bird needs few upgrades..

Bought mine from:

Their prices are very reasonable and their service excellent. I highly trust them.

Happy upgrades.

I think if I had it to do over, my first upgrade part would have been the carbon fiber tail fin. That plastic fin is way to weak. I had replaced it like 4 times (two times it broke when the heli wasn't even flying). Finally put the CF fin on and it is a good bit stronger.

Other than that and the CC Bec mine is all stock, I do have a box full of upgrade parts just haven't had a need to install yet.

All,
I am ready to purchase blades beyond the stock paint stirrers. My pilot skills or lack there of points me to the Align 325 woods. I know i need spacers but now i am undecided as to which mixing arm MFG to purchase. I have followed the Kasama and GForce threads and like the Kasama except for not having a Closed loop flybar. I came across this thread and i have never heard of MicroHeli products. I will have to upgrade my head in stages due to funds and i don't fly as much as i would like to but is there a Kasama vs GForce vs MicroHeli Pro/ Con opinion? I just don't want to buy upgrades and have the company be out of business in 6months. Thanks for any input.

I can't speak for GForce or Kasma parts, but the MicroHeli upgrades I have are excellent. I'm very impressed with their quailty.

I had these same problems trying to decide witch head to go with. followed all the threads trying to determine witch would be the better choice. All to no avail. So I decided the only way I would ever make up my mined would be to get both and do a side by side comparison for my self.
Even then it was a really hard decision. G-Force and Kasama both make a high quality head for the Mini-T and each has its own advantages. Like you I prefer the closed loop flybar but in the end I went with the Kasama head anyway for a couple other reasons.
#1 was more adjustability on the head. The Kasama gives you three mounting positions on the blade grip arms for the balls and two on the lower mixing arms. With G-Force you need to use the stock lower mixing arms or order some CNC ones from some one else. I got a set of TT metal arms but like the Kasama ones better. They are a solid piece of aluminum were as the other brands have a hollowed out section that runs from bearing out to the first hole on the arm. It just seemed to me that that might be a week point.
#2 Was the flybar seesaw that is mounted on the inside of the main hub on bearings.
#3 Is the washout base I like the brass inner sleeve that slides up and down the main shaft.
This doesn't mean that the Kasama head is far superior to the G-Force head. Its just some of the design features that I liked a little more.
I'm also using a MicroHeli swash with the Kasama head. I don't think you need to worry about them going anywhere. They've been around for some time and do make some pretty good parts. I've used there stuff before and never had any complaints with the quality.

One more thing. I still have the full G-Force head with a set of TT blade spacers and the TT lower mixing arms. Still in there original packages unopened that I might consider doing some trading.

I'm also running the MicroHeli parts and am quite impressed with them :) All arrived in good order, looks well made and fits well. No funny issues at all during install and setup.

My only gripe, I would have liked getting a set of main blade grips that were made for the narrower blades instead of the TT woodies. Though they are a tad tight for the TT woodies (having a hard time finding Align woodies atm :( )

Here's 2 links to some Align wood blades...

I've used both the 315 mm and the 325 mm blades with great success.

i've got the kasama head which i like a lot better than stock. only downfall is that i can't find any woodies that fit. i'm finally tired of aimlessly flying around and i'm learning to do backflips into a nose-in inverted hover. i also want to begin loops and rolls. this all means crashing probably several times. i hate breaking carbon blades. almost debating on putting the stock blade grips on my kasama head of maybe ordering the tt metal grips. i can break 2 sets of woodies for the cost of 1 pair or carbons.

finally broke down and decided to run the stock plastic head again...i'm too nervous trying to do inverted manuevers running expensive carbon blades. getting rid of my kasama head and some new carbon blades. if anyone's interested check it out...http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=795927

I wonder if you could help me with this one. I have seen another thread with someone having same issue but can't find it!!
I am fitting a hybrid head to my TT Mini Titan 325 which consists of TT Alloy parts and G Force. All seems fine during build except the upper mixing arms. If I tighten the screw so its safley it you loose any free movement in the arm. If I back off the screw until arms are loose the screw is so loose I wouldn't dream of flying it.
I have put the stock shim type washer in and wondered if I should add another one. Help appreciated

Chris

If the mixer arm is secured in all directions, without play/movement , the screw goes in deep enough (locktite), and it rotates freely and the head functions without binding...
Your good to go IMHO.
