I have got JGF400DF and ZOOM 400 brushless motors. Are either of these motors suitable for the belt CP.If not would an align 450L be okay.I know nothing about motors so I would appreciate some advice cheers

Thanks for that Adam but what I wanted to know was if they are powerful enough to fly a heli as big as the belt CP,As I received no replies I have bought esky.s EK5-006 belt CP motor which was recommended by dougsRC on RunRyder cheers.

If the motor is around 3800 - 4200kv, then it is ok for belt cp. I am using the 3900KV one now

hey, this is off subject...but quick ?? can i convert my honey bee fp to a cp heli using the esky 6 ch Tx and Rx and the honey bee cp complete rotor head set? Reason is i wanna try the cp heli but dont really want to buy another heli and i got the parts laying around from my friend's old honey bee cp that he scrapped. thanks guys:YeaBaby:

Yes. Most of the differences are in the head, so if you have those parts it should be easy to convert.

Edit: Found an old post of mine where I listed all the components needed for a CP2 conversion. Hope this helps.

A barebones would give you the mechanics, but you'd still need a third servo.

Starting from a plain FP (and assuming it has the EK2-0702A 4-in-1 - not sure what the 0701 is all about?) you'd need:

EK1 0000A Main motor (might be fine with the 10T pinion too?)
EK1 0266 Main axis
EK1 0228 Center hub set with Feathering Shaft
EK1 0229 Rotor head set
EK1 0246 Main shaft retaining collar
EK1 0235 Swashplate set
EK1 0232 Flybar
EK1 0233A Paddle
EK1 0231 paddle control frame
EK1 0245 Paddle control link
EK1 0247 Paddle balance weight
EK1 0244 Main blade clamp set
EK1 0234 Pitch control link set
EK2 0500 Servo
EK1 0236 Servo push rod set
EK1 0272 Servo control set
EK4 0000 Symmetrical main blades

If you're running NiMHs now, add the following:

EK1 0237 Battery hanger set
EK1 0180 Lithium polymer battery 1200 mAh
EK2 0851 3 cell lipo charger
EK2 0902 Switching adapter Europe

I might have forgotten something, but you get the idea - barebones and a servo are definitely the way to go here ;)

Oh, and on the original question - on paper, the JGF400DF looks better than the stock Esky motor. I'd try with a 13T pinion first and see where that takes you.
