As I'm sure many have noticed the lepton with a 5s setup is a heavy bird. (~4lbs) Too heavy for the stock landing gear. I've been using a pair of JR Venture 30 "CP" gear but they are heavy and a little large and funny looking. I'm curious if anyone has found any better options. I'm particularly interested in the possibility of using the Trex500 gear on it as I suspect they would probably look and work well.

Not to get too off topic but has anyone fit tested any of the FlightPower Evolites in their lepton. I've looked at the dimensions and it looked as if the 5s4250? might fit but I suspect it won't. I really hope Flightpower makes a battery for the lepton as the 5s3700 is a great battery but an Evolite option would be GREAT.

The Gaui/Hurricane 550 skids are perfect - sturdy and they lift the heli off the ground - cheap too!

Jafa - Do you have any pics of your Lepton with the Gaui Struts installed?

How about this?

They look ugly when you 1st put em on
They are larger and a bit un gamely
All my friends think they look ok

From a usability point of view they are great
No more looking for a flat spot to spool up
No more worries doing autos

The holes need to be elongated to match the Lepton bolt spacing
Took 5 mins with a dremel

Cheers...

No problem

These skids gave me the confidence to shoot big autos
(I'm the only one in my group doing it too)

Do you have a picture of them looking at her from the nose? They look good from the side.

I went ahead and got the Gaui Huricane 550 gear. I haven't flown with them yet but they are definately lighter and better looking than the JR "CP" gear. Elongating the mounting holes so they would line up was a bit of a pain but I think it was worth it.
