Made a little mistake and managed to crash into a nearby table when I was hovering my CP in the basement...but however it was that I hit it managed to do rather a lot of damage.
One of the blades(plastic) broke in half and the ball at the paddle part which linked the other blade to the paddle busted off.
Was it just me or is that head a little bit flimsy? unfortunately the metal head assembly is way out of my price range

Yes, the plastic balls on the CP break off easily. I almost quit the hobby from all the expense of a lot of stuff breaking on my Blade CP each time I crashed or just made a little rough landing. After I switched to a T-Rex my hobby cost went way down. Went from crashing weekly with my CP to only 2 crashes in 1 year with the T-Rex.

Crashes with helis = broken stuff. Its inevitable that something is going to break especially when a rotor blade traveling 200 MPH smacks something. Very common problem to break the blade grip ball link on the new bell/hiller design. Replace with factory plastic parts and get back out flying. Replace crummy plastic blades with cheap wooden ones, the wooden blades help in a crash by taking the brunt of the damage while leaving everything else unharmed. Plastic blades are much less likely to break, thereby transferring crash energy to other parts of the head. Some people buy the cheap T-rex wooden blades and cut them down to size for the CP. One day you will stop crashing, until then good luck!

I totally missed that you were using the plastic blades. Yeah, those are tough blades but have a lot of flex. On a bumpy landings they busted my boom several times. You will also break more parts on the heli with them. It was a tough call for me. I was going broke replacing main blades on the BCP and tried out the plastic ones. They were nice in that if they scrapped the ground they survived but when you whacked something with them more stuff on the heli was breaking.
If I did it all over again, I would have put my BCP on eBay to cut my losses and get something like the HB King V2 which you can get complete ready to fly under $200. Here is a video of member JustPlaneChris flying his. 9 minute flight too!

Sorry to sound so negative but from personal experience I found out that the BCP was getting way too expensive for me so I went the cheaper route with a T-Rex! I still have my BCP - need to get it listed on eBay soon... I also have a full metal head on my BCP but it lacks the power with the stock motor with the extra weight of the head and beefier landing gear after I removed the brushless motor I had on it to use in other things.

That is some serious flying your friend Chris performs with that little King V2 :-)

The thig i love about the CP is that you can crash it lots of times. and it will rarley break a part. UNlike a Trex that will break the blades, feathering shaft, etc.. very easy. You need to get off the Plastic Blade. and get some woodies. most of time you can just tape the ends again and keep flying. You do not need a metal head on the CP. its a waste of Money.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just fly a T-Rex that goes where you want it to go without fuss and not crash "lots of times"?
That was my personal experience. Not to rip on the CP, but it had a mind of its own and it was always fighting me to keep it where I wanted it to be. T-Rex has been far cheaper for me to fly.

Well the Bell Hiller is a must. It just a beginner thing and set up. The BCPP is very stable. The CP can be bounced many times when learning to hover before it break's. Best begginer IMO. I know a guy that got a Brand new V2 to learn how to hover. He tried for a while. and when learning to hover. it broke too easy and got nowhere. He went out and got a BCPP. and is learning alot faster. because you can bounce it many times. and it doesnt not break. Before he would bring the Trex. bounce it. and break a bunch of stuff. and he had to go home. BCCP seems to break less stuff and is cheaper for him. Just stay away from the Plastic blades. they do break everything!! Stick with woodies. Even buy some flatbottoms when learning to hover. They are more stable for begginers. And you can still loop roll and kinda hold it inverted with them too. :YeaBaby: My brother did it for the fun of it. People said it wasnt possable.

I've seen a couple videos of the BCP where the guy was doing very good 3D. So I know they can fly well but I think you have to be real good to make one do what you want it to do. I have not flown mine in months mainly as I planed to sell it on eBay and didn't want to bust the CF blades I have on it now. I have no more spare cheap wood blades. Now that I fly much better than I did when I mothballed my BCP, I may take it out to the field next time I take my T-Rex and give it a shot. I can do fine with the T-Rex doing basic stuff like rolls, loops, flips, FFF, noise in hovering, etc. Wonder if I can tame the *#&%# BCP now so that I am not just chasing it around. I'll probably take the metal head off as the extra weight make it fly crappy when I took off the brushless motor I was temporarily using on the BCP. I hate doing any repairs on it as the &^$%# boom is glued on. T-Rex much quicker and hassle free for me to fix the few times I have had to. If I crack up the BCP I am going to blame you dieselracer! JK. For some reason I am just curious now how it will fly.

YOu dont need the Metal head. actually the head needs no Mods that i know of. I think Micro heli swash for 3d and high headspeed setups is needed. Blade CP is a great heli. DO you have the Bell and hiller head? Its a must for good response. we put it on a guys Heli on the field. and he was able to hover it better. because he no longer had to chase it around, since it responded better. Also slap a set of axe cp paddles. they are very nice. i even use them on my 450.

I really like them on the 450. They are crazy fast if you want them to be. If not you can still used the stock weights to adjust them. Just move then out untill you like the response and stablity. Then you can always add expo too. But on the CP makes it roll faster. Also if you dont already have. DUal tail motors is a good idea. makes them last longer. and hold the tail better you can get a bracket here.

But when you are ready. you can go brushless tail with a 401. and it will hold as good if not better then a 9650/401 trex with the K and b tail blades. BUt you need the Pro transmitter for that. or have to go seperates. CP is a great heli. I used to think it was crap. Until i realized now it was me the whole time :arggg: . I really want one again. after i saw my brother's cp. That fly's as good as any trex. You can have tons of fun with the little heli. They are also very durable since they are so light. I have seen a cp drop from about 100 ft in the air sideways. with the only damage being a broken skid. You can have tons of fun with a little CP.

My CP has the older non Bell & Hiller head. I don't really want to spend any money on it. It ate up a lot of cash already and that was one of the reasons I went to the T-Rex. I had dual tail motors for a while but still problems with them going out and bushings popping out. Spent more time fixing than flying it. I am just curious now if I can fly it any better. I was thinking about putting a heavier weight on the fly bar. On my T-Rex I don't use any weight on the flybar to make it more nimble. But I think when I give the CP a test flight later this week I will put heavier weights on it initially. I do need to get a piece for the head first as I have a ball snapped off the plastic head I never fixed. I still have a feeling I will not like it. I have too many bad memories of constant repairs with it. Won't try anything crazy as I really do want to sell it. One heli is enough expense for me!

YOu might want to wait untill you are better. I have a feeling someday you will come back to it. :) YOu do need to Ca the bushing/tube in the back, so it wont fly off. YOu should try the helimax CP Paddles on your Trex. They will wake it up!!

the Plasti blades are great but if you have a crash your prices on repairs almost triple. I had some donated to our flying club, we still have them. I spent the extra and went to CF blades the are strong but dont have the weight of the plasti blades and dont break as much stuff on crashes.
