For all the people having problems setting up the XeroG frames for their Raptor 30V2 and 50V2, we have put together a small guide.

The details below are what we used for both of our converted Raptors, and might differ slightly from model to model.

http://www.realraptors.co.uk/xerog/heli400.jpg

This was all done with the following equipment Raptor 50 and XeroG carbon conversion kit
OS50 XS-H Engine & 20% Wildcat fuel
Cyclic and pitch servos Futaba 3 x S9202 none digital coreless
CSM Rev Lock
Head Speed 1950
JR 10X Tx

1. All geometry for your servos and control system must be at 90° to each other, all TX sticks at centre and linier pitch curves.
2. Use as little sub trim as needed
3. All three servo arms are 22mm centre to centre
4. Make sure the swash plate is level at 0°
5. Elevator linkage 89.6mm centre to centre
6. Aileron linkage 40.4mm centre to centre
7. Pitch linkage 67.5mm centre to centre The setting above gives + - 10° Pitch and 8° cyclic, with minimum interaction.

Please view the four video clips listed below.

1. From hover, applying + pitch, heli tracks straight up, and starts to travel backwards. (http://www.realraptors.co.uk/xerog/video1.WMV)
2. From inverted hover, applying – pitch, heli tracks straight up, and starts to move to the side. (http://www.realraptors.co.uk/xerog/video2.WMV)
3. Adjust the ATV for the pitch servo to –92, from hover, applying + pitch, heli tracks straight up (http://www.realraptors.co.uk/xerog/video3.WMV)
4. Adjust the ATV for the elevator and aileron servo’s to 108 for right and 96 for down, from inverted hover, applying – pitch, heli tracks straight up (http://www.realraptors.co.uk/xerog/video4.WMV)

Is the converted Raptor faster for flip and rolls?

1. We then measured the flip rate with standard black paddles and the Raptor did 6 flips in 20 seconds.
2. We then measured the flip rate with green light weight paddles and the Raptor did 7 flips in 20 seconds.

The key to making this conversion work is using 22mm servo arms, this gives the servo resolution needed to remove the interaction, and the rest of the set up is working at the field.

Below is a drawing to help you set up the frames on the bench

Do you think you could repost the video's here for me or tell me where I might get the same video info?

Thanks Andy
