Now that ReadyHeli has started offering the brackets, which servo is better for this purpose?

John, you might want to replace the carbon fiber product pics with g10 pics. Even though I know the description clearly states the material, people might expect carbon...

Sorry since your site won't allow me to copy the pics I have to use words:
http://www.readyheli.com/Custom_Heli_Parts_Trex_600_HS_81_Carbsmart_Mixture _p/chp-a203n.htm
The uppermost picture (product by itself) appears to show black carbon fiber. The lower picture, product unstalled on the heli, shows the lighter colored G-10 material. I've never seen black G-10 (glass filled epoxy) before... Unless you are using G-3, glass filled phoenolic, which can be dark in color...
Maybe I'm confused... Just saying if people get the light colored material they might wonder what's up.

If you put black dye in the resin what colour would the finished fibreglass layup end up at?

well now I've seen everything...

They say they put the color in the glass but whatever, same effect I guess.
The two different versions shown is still confusing though...

I read that as the pigment is in the resin.

"...combined with a glass fabric substrate with a COLOR pigment added... "
who knows, it's poorly worded and can be read either way. adding color to the resin would perhaps make more sense, unless it would degrade the dielectric properties or cause some other problem, perhaps with the epoxy curing.

so is this readyheli product BLACK in color??? Sorry...I'm confused now... I'd like to get a CSM carbsmart once my heli is dialed in...

I build F3B Gliders (very high performance Carbon Fibre monsters) and we colour the epoxy resin all the time, we just use children's powdered paint! From the experience I have a bit of colour doesn't hurt the epoxy at all, test before going into production though.
The real stuff is this

Nice elegant bit of CF but it's not rocket science to make your own out of a bit of Ali sheet and you don't need a high performance servo either !

What would be funky is to make the servo bracket the same profile as the align front frame stiffener, and the front gets modified to carry the servo. Two birds, one stick!

From W.E.S.T. System epoxy company:
423 Graphite Powder
423 Graphite Powder is a fine black powder that can be mixed with WEST SYSTEM epoxy to produce a low-friction exterior coating with increased scuff resistance and durability. Epoxy/graphite is commonly used as a bearing surface, and as a coating on rudders and centerboards, or on the bottoms of racing craft that are dry sailed. It does not provide antifouling qualities. The epoxy/graphite mixture can also be used in teak deck construction to simulate the look of traditional seams and to protect the epoxy from sunlight. Cures to a black color. Add to mixed resin/hardener at the rate of up to 10% by volume (approximately 5.7 oz. per B group).
Color Pigments
WEST SYSTEM pigments are epoxy-based liquid colorants used to tint the epoxy mixture to provide an even color base for the final finish system. The colored surfaces also tend to highlight flaws and imperfections. Cured, pigmented epoxy surfaces are not a final finish surface, but require an additional opaque or UV filter coating for ultraviolet protection. Add to the mixed resin/hardener at a rate of approximately one teaspoon of pigment to 8 fl oz of epoxy. More pigment will increase opaqueness and mixture viscosity. One 4 fl oz bottle will tint approximately 2/3 gal of epoxy.
501 White Pigment.
503 Gray Pigment.

Ready heli HAS doen that.. check the 2nd set of links they supplied. I asked them about it b/c i run the frame stiffeners and the original version of their bracket wont fit w/ the stiffners. Their second version has the bracket and the stiffner combined into 1 unit.
