Hi,
A dream I have is to get a Intrepid Turbine with a 4 blade (gyro and mixing board) Diamond setup. My question is, has anyone done anything like this before.
I'm not much interested in 3D (even if I could), I just want to do some basic flying... actually the truth is I love the sound of the turbine spinning up!
Perhaps a stupid question, but do these ever come on the market used?
thanks.

Yes and yes
You don't need the electronic mixing board with the Bergen ... as it is mechanical mix and you just hook in gyros to the ail and elevator servos and you have it ...Now the boards usually give you the nice phasing advantage but mechanical phasing is possible
Here is one of Len Mounts 4 bladed heads : http://www.scalerchelis.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8450&highlight=bergen+turbine
Here is a Bergen turbine for sale and at a really good price :
It was on ebay and didn't bring the money : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESEX:IT&item=110184655449&_trksid=p3984.cSELL.m315.lVI
and here is his Helifreak add pointing ... I would give him a shout and see what has happened to it :

And another that I just found :

There was a 4 bladed Bergen turbine. I can't remember who it was but it was posted here in the old Freak forum...maybe the turbine section. I want to say it was Wolfdad. Chris or Greg will know.
BTW, it was cool as hell!

I know he had more vids on here but I didn't spot 'em in the short time I looked. It was awesome with that head on there. Gotta love that turbine and to have a multi-head to boot:smokin:

Yeah, it's definitely the ultimate dream "goal" if you're into model helis. That turbine sounds sweet and with the multi-head! Well, it doesn't get any better I think.
