View Full Version : replacement futaha recievers???

I got a futaba 6exhp radio with my trex450se v2 but a bad case of dumb thumbs saw my bird eat dirt...I trashed the reciever and brought a cheapie off ebay but it dosent work, can these be fine tuned or did I get what I paid for?

make sure that if the reciever PCM that the radio is transmitting in PCM. Or vise versa if it's a FM receiver.

Yeh, the radio is set to ppm, the reciever just says FM/PPM???

sounds like your doing it correct.. what's the model number on the receiver?

What crystal are you using? If it's from your old RX it could have been damaged in the crash, or maybe just incompatible with the new RX. If it's a new crystal, it might still be incompatible .

Is the receiver compatible for the Futaba transmitter? I see your location is Sydney, That is Austrailia I would think.
As others have mentioned, are you trying to use a Dual conversion crystal in a single conversion receiver?
What band are you using? 36 mhz or 40mzh or ???

you might be onto something with the damaged crystel...40mhz 40.790 type40-1, no model on the reciever, just says compatable with MOST futaba tx. Also the dual conversion thing has me scratching my head.
Sposed to be only using 36mhz over here, is there any way to change the radio to 36mhz? then I can use off the shelf crystals from my local shop.
