What is the easiest gov to set up, i have no experience with governors and i will trade price for ease of use. I was thinking about a GV-1 because it looks so simple to setup, is this ttrue? do you still need to use a tach when setting up a GV-1? thanks for the help.

A lot of people find the setup instructions confusing when they set up a GV1 for the first time, after that it is very simple. No tac. is needed. I recently started using the MultiGov tac.; all its defaults are for the Align 600.

the Futaba GV-1 was confusing at first..but after about 10 minutes it was pretty easy to figure out.
the CSM RL10's and 20's are pretty easy.
Throttle Jockey Revmax and governor are easy, but the calculator you have to download off the net makes it more complicated than it ought to be IMO..
The Multi-gov is supposedly extremely easy and is what i'll be setting up in the next few days. i'll let ya know how it is when i get it.

They can all be confusing at first. Especially the TX programming part. But once you get it down, they all get real easy. Some are easier than others. The multigov happens to be one of the easiest for the Trex Nitro, simply because it comes from the factory with the presets for the 600N.
They all require a little research and reading.

invertmast, what download are you speaking of for the revmax? I never downloaded anything when I installed and setup mine...
If I could do it again, I think I'd definitely go multigov. The broad concensus is that it's the easiest to setup by far, and you can unplug and remove the LCD screen when you're done.

I used the Gv-1 I watched bobs video, and was super easy to set up , also the led display makes it much easier than counting flashing lights, and you can change your head speed without a guide (or the instructions chart which is needed with most govs now) this is good if you need to make some quick adjustments whilst out.
you can also if you want add a servo to adjust your mixture whilst your flying the GV-1 does have a lot of features even tho it is getting on a bit , I found it easy to use and a pleasure to program..

Love my Multigov! Easiest to set up by far and works flawlessly. Not to mention they have the best customer support of all the gov's. If you post in this forum or on RR about a problem with the Multigov, the owner of the company pops right in and tells you how to fix it! I've also seen NUMEROUS people mention that they emailed Aerospire on a Sunday about a problem and had a reply in less than an hour.

I was all set to get a TJ pro but lately theirs been many governor threads here and over at the other site and most guys are going with the multigov and no one has said anything bad about it, at least not that I've found.

Multigov so easy a caveman can do it
Me is a caveman, me do it good, multigov very easy setup. Being a caveman it not bad at all, didn't we invent the wheel and fire, the design hasn't change much
You could change any settings with ease, it comes with a display unit, now I know what a 2000 head speed sounds like.
I have never had this much flying before, I might be suffering from pilot fatigue (12 mins of sports flying). Nitro where have you been all my life?
