Hi guys,

I am upgrading the gyro on my 200 from a Telebee to a Futaba 401, and I have a quick question about using this type of gyro with the micro-sized tail servos.

The instruction manual for the 401 says that you can switch it to "DS" mode, or "Digital Servo" mode for better performance. It also says that if you use the DS setting with an analog servo, you will burn it out.

So...I don't have much experience with the small micro-size servos, and the tail servo I have is the Futaba S3133 digital HS servo. Even though this servo is "digital", is it too small for the DS mode setting? Will it burn out if I use the DS setting? I am only concerned because it seems that normally the 401 and 611 gyros are used with larger, more powerful servos.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

the way i understand it is to use the ds setting with any digi servo. someone please correct me if i'm wrong, so this dude doesn't burn out a servo because of my misinformation.

I cant comment on the 3133 but we run the 3154 in the DS mode with out a problem.

Sorry, the servo is an S3153, not a 3133, I made a typo. It is a slightly (very slightly) heavier version of the 3154, costs about $5 more too, so I assumed it was a little better?!?

Anyhow, thanks for the responses! I'll use the DS mode for sure.

Also, any thoughts on placing a GY401 on the inside of the battery tray just in front of the main shaft? Is this too close to the motor? Should I put the gyro at the very front of the battery tray?

Thanks again.
