Hi one more question how do i lower the pitch of my blades so it will have 0 percent pitch at the lowest throttle position i have set up my radio so the pitch on my dx7 is 0 25 50 75 100. I can lower the pitch of the blades to 0 but i have to lower my swashplate by using sub trim and without the sub trim my servo arms are all at 95 degrees which finless says to do but i have a about 6 percent pitch on my blades. Please any help is very much appreciated.

The pitch of your blades should be 0deg. w/ the Tx at mid stick, the servo arms at 90deg. and all of the arms in the head level. This is w/ a linear pitch curve as you described and will allow your max. + pitch (high stick) and - pitch (low stick) to be equal. This is for your idle-up modes, for normal mode you want your max. - pitch to be about 3-4deg. usually about 40% for the lowest point on your pitch curve.
Watching this vid. should help

What degree should my servo horns be at when the throttle stick is at the lowest position on my trex 500 should they be at 90 deg or lower to get the pitch as finless said should be at 2 negative pitch to 0 pitch on the blades and the manual said the same on the lowest throttle position. please help

thats wrong superbob, it should be 90 at mid stick then you can set your pitch för low stick in pitch curve setup in your tx

What's the max pitch/cyclic setup for hard 3D for the T500 head? Any of you guys install the Microheli seesaw and bell arms? It's supposed to increase cyclic, so I was wondering what is safe.

My throttel wire from the ESC was twisted in, out and around some sort of iron ring, why? Should it be there or not?

No clue on the microheli thing. As far as max cyclic you can get a lot with this heli before the head binds. That how much I run. I haven't measured the cyclic pitch but I am betting it's 10 or so.
sulan that thing on the ESC to RX lead is a noise filter (Toroid). It's mainly needed for FM receivers where noise can effect them Most people say you don;t need it for 2.4 radio systems but I say it cant hurt to leave it on.

i have to remove it or it wount reach my rx, but how the heck should i get it out of there?

You can either cut it with a large set of side cutters. It is fragile and will just bust up. Or remove the pins out of the RX connector and you can unwrap it.

Or throw on a servo extension cable.

I saw you used the curtis youngblood gyro on your Trex 500 build. I am just getting into the hobby and am ordering a Trex 500. I am trying to chose a gyro. The price is really not an issue. Do you think the Curtis gyro flies better, and/or is easy to set up or would you suggest the Spartan?

Thanks!!

i also having some problems with my spartan gyro, its wagging in a strange way not that i have to much gain it just moves a bit from left to right at hover, if i give it some more power it goes crazy and throws form left to right. This is my first spartan so i think I need some tips.

i disabbled governor mode and reduced some pitch at the tail and changed ATV on rudder channel to 80% , now it was a little bit better but not perfect.

Hey Bob
I'm installing my 5245's and I don't feel that the servo screws are long enough. Not even an 1/8 inch sticking through the frame after washers an spacers. Should I be concerned? I went to the hobby store and he gave me 3x15mm button head machine screws will these be ok?
thx

They bit enough for me but I agree they don't come all the way through. I have had no issue with them coming loose or anything. Are you trying to use the rubber grommets? If so the screws will not be long enough. Otherwise I see no reason you cant use the longer screws you got....

No grommets 11 out of 12 bit questionably ok #12 spun though, just wanted to make sure using different screws would be ok.
Thanks again Bob

I haven't gone through the threads to see if any of this has been addressed. I'm building a 500 today and tomorrow. In this thread:
http://helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=75556
I've noted small changes between Finless' videos and the (I guess) new Align manual.
Also, one of the hex cups on the bottom of my blade grip was too small for the nut. I tried several times to get the nut in before giving up and using a dremel to file down the nut.
Basicly, the nut fits fine in one side but too tight in the other side. Must be some extra anodizing on one of the blade grips.

Thanks, FB
I got my Trex 500 Wednesday morning from amainhobbies. The manual is OK, but watching your videos adds so much more! I'm sure I would have made many errors by now if not for the vids!
I have the head assembled and the frame is next.
You are an unbelievable asset to the RC helicopter community!
Thanks again,
Lance

I had the exact same problem. I basically destroyed a nut trying to get it seated in there, had to go buy another nut.
