But the big advantage is, I can buy 401s for under $100 used. :)
Jeremy.... after flying the 760 I can tell you for sure it BLOWS away the 401. I don't know that I will be good enough a pilot to be able to tell the difference between that and a Zero-G.
Bob
Zero-G Gyro LOL , It should rock on a Solig G Raptor conv. JK.

Hey Bob, i've got a Li-Po sitting here, it is from maxamps, http://www.maxamps.com/proddetail.php?prod=Lipo-3000-148-Pack&cat=14, I know 4s but i just want to use it for the first couple flights until i get enough $$$ for a flight power 6s pack, will it fit under the canopy and will it balance well?
Thanks ALOT! :)

Good Morning Bob,
I use a 4s 1800 & 4s 2170 packs on my Mini-Titan. Would it be posibble to make this a 8s bird with the supplied ESC and Motor or do I need to buy my own?
Finless
12-22-2007, 12:32 PM
Nope.... ESC and motor wont support 8S.

Step 11 is up.... Tail drive and boom install!

As you command Bob,
I did a little bit of math to show the effect of using any horn length that results in a different angle than 90degrees. I didn't however figure out the best angle as it gets really complicated really fast.
As you can see even if you let the Lo term go to zero the swash relation to the servo angle is FAR from linear.

Well beyond me dude.... I use to love geometry in High School as it was one of my favorite subjects but after 30 years of rarely using it at this level it's all LOST in my gray matter somewhere....
Splain it in layman terms ;)

Stupid question time: on the thrust bearings, what's the purpose of the inner race being loose? Is it to accommodate wobble without binding against the shaft?

I am stuck between going with the Hitec's 5245mg's or the JR 3400g..I really want to go metal gear but dont want to suffer on performance..What to do??
Locktite

Looks like i am pretty much set on 5245mg's

what about the futaba 9257?!
Locktite
12-23-2007, 02:01 AM
I would rather suffer just a tad in performance so I don't have to change servo gears all the time if i crash..
Finless
12-23-2007, 02:09 AM
The 9257's will absolutely give you faster cyclic response. They are quicker than the 5245MG. But as other said including me the servos being direct to the swash means gear strips in a crash and I don't want that hassle.
Also for those looking at 3400G's Only the output gear is metal! The rest of the gears are nylon so they DO strip.

What motor pinion should I use for a 4s1p 14.8v 2200mAh 25C Lipo Battery setup for aerobatic flying?
