My son has crashed his 600 a number of times and we've never damaged a battery yet.....*******Fingers Crossed*********

FlightPower has a 50% crash replacement policy, send Steve a picture of your damaged pack and they'll send you one at 1/2 price! I think some of your other major brands do this as well.

Ive flown HV electrics for 4-5 years now.

Crashed numerous times (> 20), two times the battery has been damaged.
both times I got 50% off due to "crash warrenty".

this may seem like a silly question...

but how do you know if your battery was damaged in a crash?

I had quite a mild crash (blade hit) - blades disintegrated, main shaft bent, but that was it... and no visible damage to battery and battery charged ok afterwards.

Should I be concerned with that battery?

This was a Kong Power 3S 2200mAh in a T-Rex 450...

Do a visual inspection and there is a VERY distinct sweet smell if you have a hole in the pack.

i had a crash as well with slight damage to the pack on one of the cells. no puffing or anything. there is no hole in the pack. i haven't hooked it up to the charger yet to see if all the cells are working. should i use/charge the battery? or is it considered not safe once dented?
