This question should probably go in the electronics are of the forum, but since its going in a Logo 5003D, I'm sure you guys won't mind.
I need a new gyro, have always used Futaba and want to change to another brand because of all these new less expensive great offerings,
but what the heck should I buy,
Logitech and their servo? DSSpartan and which servo is best? JR 770 and servo.
I fly mostly 3D, so I need one of the good holding gyros.
What the consensus - its starting to become like ESC's, many options.
Any help in making a decision would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Jeff

I ended up with the Spartan DS760 because of all the great reviews about it and the fact you could use any servo with it. Since I have yet to fly mine with the Spartan DS760 I can't comment about performance but it is simple to setup and eventually I'll get the software kit so I can tweak other variables if needed.
I'm sure Mercuriell will chime in but he already commented on the great holding and stopping ability. Also, Alan and Danny Szabo have now been signed as reps for SpartanRC so I'm sure that says something right there. It may be a small light weight servo but its capable of driving any size (digital) servo.

My favorite is the CY Solid G, but I hear good things about the Spartan.
Former recent vintage Gyros; 411, 611, 2100, 770 (works great in Trex 450 w/9257)

Yes I like the Spartan - it's compact size if just right for the L500 and although I'm not hard 3D it seems to hold the tail as well as my 611s - setup is not intuitive but once you're figured it out it's elegant to set the gyro direction and servo endpoints - can't see me buying another 611 !

I'll be running this Spartan Gyro in my 6003D flybar heli, I do hope it is all that I have heard on it. The vids sure make it appear to be solid that is for sure.
