401 by Futaba would work great. It also comes with a digital servo..Digital servo with it is the way to go.

I agree with Joel. Your other good option is the JR 500T with the same digital servo as the 401 (9254).
Either of those combos is great and should be trouble free when setup right on an R50.
I would take it one stem furter and say to stick with one of the newer technology types of Gyro, namely the silicon ring sensor type. The futaba 502, 601, and 401 all qualify, as does the 500t by JR. The older Piezo types had troubles with drift in varying degrees, depending on the setup and the quality of the gyro. You could buy one, but the best bang for the buck is definately the silicon ring sensor.
I am not sure if the new CSM is a silicon ring sensor or not. The telebee is definately not and is definately troubles for a new pilot.'
As for servos on the tail, speed is king. Mostly Digitals have that market monopolized. Other things to note is that speed is killed by a sloppy setup. If there is any drag or binding in your tail linkages, you have just defeated the purpose of the high speed servo, so make sure your linkage is super smooth, and has minimal play.
Hope this helps.

Another vote for 401/9254. :)
