so the hard part about predicting when a model is actually available for sale, is that there are a lot of moving parts in the process of manufacturing one.

The Bandit has been designed from scratch to be the most powerful and maneuverable 450 available on the market now and in the future so every piece of it has to be manufactured (including some of the bolts). As you can imagine there are a lot of different suppliers involved and lots of opportunities for individual pieces to take longer than they were supposed to be completed.

Customers get frustrated when release dates aren't announced until the model is already shipping and are equally frustrated when predicted dates aren't met. The manufacturer does the best they can to deliver the model as quickly as possible.

I think you'll see the 450 available pretty soon, I know that all the major pieces are done and there are just odds and ends being collected at this point but some things have taken longer than originally expected to complete.

It'll be worth the wait, its simple to build, the belt drive tail is very efficient at driving the t/r (and its lighter than a tube drive and gets damaged a lot less in crashes). The model is very fast and responds quickly to inputs.

Overall the model has something that no other model on the market has........it has the trademark XCell flight characteristics because they were designed in from the beginning not added on as an afterthought.

Thanks Carey,

Most people have no idea the PITA it is to get everything in place to roll out a new model. (from replacement parts to manuals) Appreciate you keeping us informed!

So what's everyone gonna put on their bandit?

I'm thinking either Logictech 2100 combo or Spartan DS760/DS3500G
HS-65MG until HS-5065's are out
Medusa 28-40-3400V2
Radix
Jazz 40-6-18
3s2500 Evolites

well.. I'm about to lose hope for this. I was told about 2 months ago that they would be out very soon. I don't know what MA's idea of very soon is but I don't personally think of 2 months. I certanly hope their idea and Avant's are not the same.

I think the Bandit has been in the works for about 7-8 months now. The Aurora was much longer than that...

New to the hobby?

Well I think a lot of companies have moved from trying to be first out the door to getting the best product out the door. I, for one, would rather just wait and get a kit with all it parts that works well.

Truthfully - it hasn't been that long a wait - its fair for a small company to try and want to build hype for future sales and then release the model,
Gettting a heli. together with all the parts and packaging is no small feat,

I am definitely getting a bandit - but what I am more excited about - is the new 90 nitro that Watts was flying at the XFC - from a few slight glimpes - it looks awesome and will be the first 90 Nitro I have built in a long while,

I don't mind a wait. What I do mind is hearing that it will be out on XX-XX date over and over again. The date comes and goes. Not saying I don't appreciate updates. Its not entirely clear to me where these false dates originated from.
