I'm looking for a new heli to replace my Honey Bee FP, and I've been looking at the Mini Titan and the T-Rex 450SE v2. These are both easy to get spare parts for here in Norway, which is obviously important :) I'm looking for a bird that can handle some rough landings and is easy and cheap to repair! I also don't really want to spend any money on upgrades to start with, so if it flies bad with stock set-up, I'd rather buy something else. Now let there be answers :D

You say you dont want to spend any money on upgrades yet you want a comparison between a 400+ dollar mostly metal heli versus a plastic helicopter that for 200 dollars can be had with a motor and speed controller.
If you upgrade the mini titan with a kasama or g-force setup the cost will be about the same and so will the performance. I personally prefer the mini titan as I think its more stable out of the box and flys every bit as well as the Trex, others opinions ofcourse may differ.

You say you don't want to spend any money on upgrades yet you want a comparison between a 400+ dollar mostly metal heli versus a plastic helicopter that for 200 dollars can be had with a motor and speed controller.Correct! Like I said; my main point is to have a bird that can handle a rough landing and is easy and cheap to repair. Everything is comparable :) If the Mini handle harder crashes than the Rex without damaging parts, that's a better choice for me. Point is I'll probably be crashing it a fair bit, and want it to be fast and cheap to fix. But if the stock set-up leaves absolutely no room to grow and I need to buy a lot of upgrades, then it's gonna be as expensive as the T-Rex anyway. Get my drift? As always, there is never a perfect choice, a compromise must be met. What's the best compromise for me?

From crash-to-flying again perspective, everyone raves about the TREX...low cost and availability of spare parts being the strong points. I go through lots of blades myself and while I don't own a TREX yet, the fact that 13USD gets you a new set of quality blades is very appealing to me. I've seen other birds run upwards of 30USD for a set...

The nice thing about all the metal in the T-Rex is that it reduces the probable failure points in a crash vs. a plastic heli, so there are potentially fewer parts to replace after a crash. For example, you very rarely hear of people damaging metal blade grips because the spindle typically bends first, but plastic blade grips break quite often in crashes.

I have both and although I havn't crashed in a while and never put my Minin Titan in the dirt I like the mini out of the box by far over the T-Rex. The MT is by far a better design to work on or repair the the T-rex and you can always use any blade you want on it. I use Align blades on my titan but again I still have my stock blades that work just fine.SO my vote is clearly the Mini Titan

Both heli's fly great. I can't feel the differences of the flying behaviour between the two helis.
However, both heli's can't either stand agains "hard landing". The landing gear of the MT will break as easy as the landing gear of Trex.
