Questions about Axi 2208/20 in Zoom/shogun 400

Hi there,

I like the look of the Axi 2208/20, but i have a few question for people who run this motor.

Firstly, mounting. Will the Axi 2208/20 mounth easily into the Zoom's frame, or will it need some kinda modification?

Secondly, what is the best pinion for this motor? I read that a 17 or 8T pinion is best. Where can i get these in the Uk?

Thirdly, I have read that the Axi 2208/20 is much low KV rating, so I would need to run on 5s lipo's? Is this true? I dont want to run higher the 3s.


Any help would be great.

has 400DH heli version and also have pinion gears as well i had put one of these in a Zoom. Worked pretty well with 3s.

Well,
I purchased the axi and a 17t pinion. After ordering I found that in fact my LHS stocks the 400DH motors for £29.99. I would probably have gotton this if i saw it before. Im still looking forward to installing the axi though. Ill let you all know how it performs.

Well,
I recieved the 17t pinion this morning, still waiting for the axi but it was shipped today so hopefully tomorrow.

I was a little shocked to how big the pinion is compared to the 8t on my himax. I have checked and i will surely have todrill now holes and cut the frame in order to mount this baby.
