Hello,
im fairly new at this but it is my understanding that the gryo will initialize (sp?) after you plug in the battery.

Hi Guys.. I have Belt CP. checking gyro... turn on TX, set throttle to low, also trim tab. Connect battery, Motor should beep 3X, Led on gyro should be 'twinkling' it may do this for upto 15 seconds? when it's finished setting up, you should see tail rotor pitch jump to a different position. It should be done then. Also, if you think the gyro isn't doing much, check connections at the RX end also tail servo.
#Note: The Gyro switch on the TX does nothing, unless you have a HH Gyro, with the option to change to Rate mode gyro.

Hope this helps

Turn on the TX first, set the trims back to center and remember where they were. Then connect the battery. Do not touch any controls on the TX until after the "twinkling" on the gyro stops and you see that twitch in the tailrotor.

After that, put the trims back to where they were. (If your using the Esky TX that is)

Hi guys, forgive an old fart asking silly questions, but what does the standard (non-headlock) gyro actually do on the Belt CP?

get the esky hh gyro for 20 quid you won't have to worry about that pesky tail ever again it holds perfect thats where the switch comes into play cos you can switch it off and on.

I have the HH gyro now, all set up according to lots of advice & homework
I ask if anyone else has noticed their tail servo arm travel has greatly increased when using the HH gyro. Since installing it, without connecting to the rudder arm it moves a full 180 degrees left to right when activated by the TX - when connected it binds with the gear at BOTH limits of travel, so I can't move the servo to adjust - it also seems to have become incredibly sensitive, kicking the tail at the slightest touch, so much so that on it's 1st test flight I was scared to use rudder & crashed AGAIN..:( ALL other observations are from tests while the heli was tethered to the floor and I have very little experience overall - however the way it's working just doesn't seem quite right to me - any suggestions are very welcome, thanks folks:thumbup:

oops I forgot to mention I have already reconnected the linkage to the innermost hole on the servo horn, so that's not it either - also I am using the standard esky 0406A TX not a programmable radio - any other ideas folks? cheers and thanks again, all the best

Help

I upgraded my Belt CP to the alloy tail rotor. Apparently I am missing the pivot screw from the tail servo arm which mounts on a triangular bracket at the end of the tail. the bracket is threaded. The screw goes through the 2 bearings on the arm and screws to the bracket. I tried a 2 x 12mm screw which was too small and a 2.5 x12mm screw which was too big. What size could this screw possibly be? I am grounded in the mean time.

Thanks for your help.

the gryo will initialize in about 10 seconds after you connected the battery
