Has anyone used CommonSenseRC batteries before? They will be going into a stock Blade CX2. How do they hold up under normal use?

I have a couple 2100's I use in my falcon. One I bought back in June and it developed a slight puff at the end of each flight which goes away almost immediately. That is my fault, I was going by headspeed drop for a little bit, although I would check voltage and it would still be above 3 volts. It has survived a few bad crashes. The other is about two months old but only has a few flights on it. I got them cheap. I can't say I would buy them again, especially after being spoiled by the Air Thunder batt in my RCT 450.

I have a couple - both have puffed under mild 3d conditions on a trex450. Ditto on being spoiled by AirThunder.

Very new to Heli's and the terminology. Can you explain what "puff at end of flight" means? Thanks

If you look at your battery, and feel it, it is hard and mostly rectangular in shape. When it puffs, it is swelling and is soft feeling. This is not a good thing, as it means there is some sort of chemical reaction occurring inside that is creating a gas. This is purely an individual decision, but the common way to deal with it is to stop using the battery because it could catch fire. In my case, the puffing I have observed on the one CSRC batt I have is slight and goes away in less than a minute. I watch it very closely, and it has not become worse, but as soon as it does I will destroy it. Mine started to puff due to my own error with use, but it does seem that this brand is not up to the punishment that helicopters dish out. Other than mild sport flying, I don't feel these are a good choice for helicopter use, especially if you will be doing high amp draw flights such as 3D.

Thanks JasonJ, The battery will be going into a stock Blade CX, with a beginer behind the controls. Not to much demand from the battery yet! Thanks

I bought one of them for my cx2 and it works fine. You have to rubber band it on the bottom sideways but it still stays within "cg". Flight times are alot longer than the stock lipo and they are alot cheaper $.

We've sold hundreds and hundreds with no complaints or returns. The ones I tested were great. The CX2 is the perfect place for a 'value' cell as current requirements are very low. I like em.

In your application it will probably be ok as long as you keep a close eye on how much you discharge them. You need a charger that tells you the mAh you put back into the cell during charging. The rule is use no more than 80% of the pack capacity for a flight. Do some more research on lipo care before you continue so you do not throw away money on packs.

Oh and at my field we call them "Common Puff" packs now. Too many of us killed them in trex 450's...
