View Full Version : Mini Titan E325
Planing in getting rid of my Compy 300 or should I say Franky 300 since it's made up of diff parts. Got my eye on a Mini Titan E325. I have all the electrics from my Compy except I will probably need to get diff Servos. I got a 400DH Brushless motor(4400kv) and a Phoenix 25 BEC, will this be good for the E325? figured I would probably need to use a 10T pinion. Any advise would be great.

I don't think you will be very happy with the motor and speed control you say you have. You really should have a Hacker A-20 or its equivelent and a Thunderbird 36 will do the trick!! I run a A-20 with a 17 tooth and the Thunderbird 36 with a Telebee gyro and 3 HS-65 servos with a HS-81 on the tail and it works great!
Motor should still work, right. I did a bit of research and found I would need a 40 amp BEC.

I did a little research on that motor and from what I can see it will not be enough motor for your mini T. I don't know if I told you this but I have a Mini T/ E-325.
Its a hair bigger than a T-Rex 450XL so don't be fooled by the name it's not that Mini. The motor you have is really designed for a 300-350 class Heli. it only has a 2.3mm shaft and the E-325 kit comes with 3mm pinion gears! That in it self should tell you something of this birds needs.Thats why it only needs a 25amp ESC. I suggested a Castle Thunderbird 36 because its the same ESC as there Pheonix model ESC except there is a bit less programing in it. but cost about 50 bucks thats a 40 dollar savings for a ESC that will more than do the job. It can still be programed by the Castle Link setup. If you don't have the Castle Link get it! It's the best 25 bucks you will spend on your heli. On a personal note I have built about 20 Choppers Some right from scratch and the one I fly the most and like to work on and had the best dirrections and setup tips is by far the Mini Titan. So you won't be unhappy with this investment.
P.S. Hope this helps?

After further research I figured that I will be needing all new electronics, man my wife will kill me. Maybe after taxes :-) I do have the Castle link and I love it. I have a Dragonus as well and I am getting spoiled on the stability, I guess the bigger the more stable. I also have a HBCP2 but it's what I use to try new things. The Compy I have is just to much maintenace and I can see it beign a hand full to fly although I haven't done any FFF with it, I guess I will just keep it and start saving my money for a Titan. Thanks for your help.

Great I glad I was of some help. Any other Mini T. Questions just give me a Holla!
FYI I would say it cost me about $450 not counting the radio to put my Mini in the air.
I was amazed at how affordable this heli is, but it will have to wait. My Dragonus and HBCP2 are keeping me pretty happy for now but I do see a mini in the near future :-)

I know what you mean about the Wife and teh Cash thing. I never let her see the receipts. FYI Heli Direct has the Kit for $159.00 the last time I looked. When you do do this get the Kit not the ARF unless you really are not able to build something. The build instructions are by far the best out there. And you will really know what makes your Heli work when you are done.
I actually enjoy building the heli, it's actually what drives me to buying a new heli. I was looking at the Heli Direct kit, what do you think about this combo?

That looks like a great deal. If Helidirect had it for the same price I would buy from them only because I don't know those people and HD had been great to deal with.
Larry of HD is very helpfull and the stuff shows up fast and no shipping over $100.bucks !! I would even call larry and see if he can help you out with the price let him know about the other price and site and see what he says. But if you know the other guy then go for it. With me it's a matter of trust and H.D. has been great. God know I've stressed them a few times.
It's a big diff in price, are the electrics better? HD has been my main source for heli parts as well. I just had some issues with their Mega Power Batteries and Larry replaced most of the MP batts.I thought that great. When I get ready to buy I will contact Larry and see what we can figure out. At the moment just going to research some more and save my cheese for a new Heli :-) Thanks again

I am not furmilure with those electrics but I don't think Thunder Tiger would put junk in the kit? I base that thought on how well the rest of the kit is put together.
They will more than do the job from what I can see looking at the specs. Your just going to love putting this kit together and flying it it even better. Once you build this on your going to wonder why everybody do design there choppers after this design.
P.S. Get a ball sizing tool some of the ball links really need to be sized.
I'll keep looking around for more info while I save my money. You mind if I look you up once I have it, just if I have any questions about the build.

I got the Mini T kit with the factory motor and esc and it is very good combo. You might just try it the way they have worked it out before you waste a lot of money and time being frustrated and unhappy. I have a drawer full of the " better and cheaper" stuff. I also have a Mini T with an align 430XL and an align esc. I think the TT is just as good forless money as a combo. I and very happy with Amainhobbies service too. TimT

So you have the same combo I mentioned earlier from amainhobbies? is it the same motor and ESC

Yes , the factory motor and esc are well suited. The align motor seems to heat the battery a little more. The 40 amp esc is easy to set up and more than enough to do the job. Think about it, 200.00 for a kit and a motor then an esc as well? This thing has thrust brgs. in the head and a 4mm spindle. It flys super stock and I have one all done up with the bling. They are worth every penny. That's not a statement often made in this hobby! TimT

I have never even opened the wood blades. I have both the Radix and Rotortech's on these birds. I did try the t rex tail blades but I prefer the stock ones. TimT

have you done the CNC upgrades?

Yes, the second one I built from the start with all the TT aluminum parts. The complete head and swash with the grips too. It has the full tail and controls in alum. as well. Very nice quality. It might fly better than my plastic one but hard to tell. I have several machines but I mostly fly my Mini's. I want to get a T rex 500 next. I wish TT would do one in a 425 blade size. The motor placement and ease of servo service is what got me interested. I love the less than 10.00 price for a main frame. They are comming out with a new version, SE with all the metal stuff and more. TimT

What about the way the whole tail boom and gears just slide in? Is that just the cats asss or what?? I love mine it's mostly stock accept the motor and ESC
I haven't any reason to upgrade it. it fkys so good now until I wreck it I'm not doing anything other than the swash plate. And I'm giving it bigger balls !! Ya know the ball links
Well, hopefully by the time I am ready to get one the SE will be available. I have a Dragonous Elite with all the bling and I don't know if I want to go back to plastic. I also have a Compy 300 with the Micro heli head, I really do like the CNC builds better. I might be buying one sonner than later.

The Mini Titan manual page 36 has a schematic of all the wiring.
You will have to convert the servo plug locations to match your RX plug locations,
but they should be labeled on the rx case.
