Do I need to have my throttle curves up to 100% when using governor or can I have like 80 65 50 65 80.
Exempel if I have set my idle 2 spedd to 2000 rpm on the governor and the curves i the radio are 80 65 50 65 80. But if the 80 % on radio only give you 1800 rpm will the governor go above the throtle curves in the radio. Hope you understand what I mean, he he.

What governor, and what radio are you using?

You shouldn't set your curve to a full 100 across as if you throw a mag then you will be running at full throt , which might damage your engine but more to the matter could be dangerous .

I set my curves up for best flight without a gov, then set the gov up to that, if for any reason my gov goes down I know I am still within my safety margin and can bring her in hassle free.

This is just my preference it might not be right or wrong but is the way I like it... lol.

+1 i always setup "good" curves on my heli's for flight w/o a gov.. that way if the gov breaks or it slings a magnet, i can still fly w/o putting anything into danger.

You use 100% flat throttle curves when using a limiter like the RevMax
(in 3 years never had a single failure)

but it only needs one time and things could go badly wrong , I can not see the benefit from running 100 flat curves.. ??

the multigov (which can be used in limiter or gov mode and switched in flight between the two) recommend running a "normal" throttle curve...

i dont care what directions say, i will NEVER use a flat 100 throttle curve unless its on an electric. i'll take a slight decrease in performance for the extra safety.

Now that's the best advise I've heard in a long time.... Manufacturers recommendations should never out-weigh Common Sense and Safety
